I was thrilled that I found Finesse Chauffeurs, what a gem of a team this is! Nicola and Mark are wonderful! Traveling the day after Covid travel restrictions were lifted in the UK, I wasn't really quite sure what to expect as everything is a 'new' normal, things are not like they have always been. Coming into Cornwall from London without a car, I was looking for private transfer services that were going the extra mile for health safety and I found it here. They have put up the plexiglass type of partitions within the vehicle, it's stocked with hand sanitizers, masks, water, tissues, anything possibly needed. The vehicle itself is spotlessly cleaned and incredibly comfortable. Nicola was so incredibly prompt with her responses to my questions and arranging my bookings, additionally she helped me create and add on a full day custom tour including a St Michael's Mont pre-booking and printouts of walking maps. Mark was behind the wheel and just lovely with the door to door services, always punctual and very knowledgable about the area when driving me through the small towns and villages. I loved how there was no pressure of time tables and rushing to the next stop. The rides were so smooth I even got little cat naps in, another reason I far more enjoy having someone else do the driving, I don't have to worry when I get sleepy in the car! Thanks so much Nicola and Mark - Rina

Tregrehan Garden

Lovely, relaxing, quiet, tranquil and serene. We had been to Eden Project before coming here and loved these gardens so much more because of how they made us feel. We walked and sat in the grass and genuinely felt such great inner peace here. There were only 4 other cars when we came and it was just a calming, lovely experience. We were so lucky to be there on the day of the week they are open. I would highly recommend if you just want a place to go for an hour or two and to feel wonderful after doing so! It is very steep in the woodlands area of the gardens so that may be tricky to navigate for some people, but I would highly recommend that area of the garden as it was so breathtakingly peaceful.

Hidden Valley Gardens

Hidden Valley Gardens is a 3 acre garden (open March 20th to Oct. 15th) nestled in a hidden valley designed to create an immense sense of calm amongst 26 beds/borders featuring a host of colourful herbaceous perennials, annuals, shrubs and bulbs. The hot border bursts with a riot of scorching colours, sizzling with sunflowers, red and orange dahlias and purple verbena. Raised beds have been crafted for plants that enjoy drier conditions including herbs and lavenders. There is an iris garden, fernery, Japanese garden, potager, primrose garden, herbaceous and cottage garden beds and a Mediterranean area. The pond area has innovative bog planting that encourages wildlife like toads, gravity-defying pond skaters and dancing butterflies. A shady gazebo provides views over the garden and across the Cornish countryside. We also have the Garden Studio, self-catering accommodation for 2 persons. See www.hiddenvalleygardens.co.uk for more details of Garden and Garden Studio. RHS Partner Garden

I am not sure about the Par location as this garden is just outside Lostwithiel and some distance from Par.. It is hidden away in a valley as its name suggests, but it is a medium sized and very varied garden with the owners normally outside working in it and always willing to chat to visitors. There are a wide variety of plants, with the dahlias particularly spectacular in September.

Polkerris Beach

Polkerris Beach combines an idyllic sandy Cornish cove with first class watersports facilities. It's as good for a day trip as it is for a two-week holiday or intensive watersports course. From the smallest sandcastle-building toddler to the seasoned watersport enthusiast, there is something for everyone here. Picture this - a sheltered, sandy beach in a small village, self-catering accommodation just up the lane, no through traffic, a beach shop and café, equipment rental so you don't have to lug everything with you and personalised windsurfing and sailing courses at our award-winning, RYA Recognised Training Centre. Round that off with a beer in the Rashleigh Inn as the sun sets and you have the makings of the perfect Cornish beach scene - or dine in style at 'Sam's on the Beach' which has proved extremely popular since it opened in 2009.

We visited this beach a few weeks ago. There s a reasonable size car park a few hundred yards walk up the hill. Pub, shop, cafe and toilets next to the beach. A great spot.
