Red Canyon is in the Dixie national forest right on scenic byway 12 and features hoodoos and other formations similar to Bryce Canyon albeit on a smaller scale. Like Bryce, the scenery is created by erosion of the Claron limestone of the Paunsaugunt Plateau. Unlike Bryce, it is free to drive and explore the trail network on foot or by bike, ORV, or horse. if nothing else, get pictures of the Chimney Rock, the "Salt and Pepper Shakers" behind the visitor center, and the two tunnels cut through the red rock. Visitor center has restrooms and is accessible. Services available just up the hill in Bryce City.

I first visited Bryce Canyon Trading in 2011 on my first trip to Bryce and the turquoise jewelry they had was on another level. In my return trips I have stopped by again, and i wear their jewelry almost daily. This past fall I got back in touch with Barbara as a few stones had fallen out of my (now 9 year old) ring. She repaired it swiftly, beautifully, and free of charge. I am so grateful. Barbara and her shop are magic. Stop on in!

A must stop! ...In fact go out of your way to visit this neat place! Easily the BEST ice cream I’ve ever had...and I’ve had a lot of ice cream! The dinosaur museum upstairs was amazing!! My kids loved it! “Ice cream and Dinosaurs! This is my kind of place!” Those are the exact words my daughter told me as we walked around the dino bones. Staff was friendly and kind. I’m so glad we found this hidden gem!

American ATV rentals was great and I highly recommend! I have rode and rented ATV's in many places around the world and this area ranks up with my favorites. It is a great and unique way to explore the beautiful area. I was shocked by the amazing red rocks and views of the Casto Canyon. You get to drive right through the Canyon and there are plenty of opportunities to stop and explore further. Don't miss the panoramic lookout point! In my mind, renting an ATV to explore this area is much better than just going into Bryce Canyon National Park and hiking. You get to see so much more with limited people around! I will be bringing groups back in the future because one day wasn't enough for me and I know others will appreciate the experience. Dave and his counterpart were great people with a lot of awesome tips. Thanks American ATV rentals, cannot wait to be back!!
