Pala is a small, mostly Native American, community located in the Pala Indian Reservation, located within San Diego County, California near Fallbrook. For centuries a traditional gathering place of native peoples, it was selected in the early 19th century by Spanish Franciscan missionaries as the site of a mission to serve the Native Americans.

Try your luck at any of the 2,000 slot machines or 59 table games including Baccarat, Blackjack, Pai-Gow and Caribbean Stud Poker.
Spent several hours here and were pleasantly surprised at the casino's hospitable atmosphere. Not nearly as crowded or as smoky as the Pechanga located about 15 miles down the highway, and the coffee shop dining was pretty good. If you're staying around Temecula, you might think about trying Pala. Same games, less hassle. Why not?

We just returned from another visit to Harrahs Southern California. Harrahs has become our favorite Southern California Resort! We went for my wife’s birthday and tried their restaurant Fiore for the first time. I recommend making a reservation in advance because the last time we were there they weren’t taking walk-ins, we arrived on time and were seated right away in a booth which I would recommend. Our server was excellent and attentive without being intrusive. We shared a shrimp cocktail then shared the house salad which was fresh and delicious Get this! I had a New York Strip and it was cooked exactly as I asked plus 2 sides I chose a baked potato and asparagus. We also had a bottle of wine. Worth the $$$. We also gambled quite a bit and came home with money.

This is a small mission, which I proported to be the oldest in the area. The bell tower is separated from the church, not a common construction in Missions. We observed the bells, strolled through the aged cemetery and then entered the church. It was long and darkened. Definitely a step back into the past.

Fun for a weekend stroll or family photo opportunity. See, feed and pet the goats. Great Sunday breakfast and fresh pies. Great place for weddings/showers and to buy plants/flowers. They have art shows and great art classes for adults. Jacquie Hughes taught an art class there and it was a lot of fun and very reasonable.

Lively casino nestled in a citrus grove offers 24 hours of gaming along with budget dining and live entertainment.
The casino seems to be for the local community. Everyone in the area knows about it. It has been completely overhauled. It is nice and clean. I was there yesterday. They seemed to be very grounded. They had handouts for those who gamble a lot. It was difficult to get a machine that I liked. Not enough machines in the no smoking area. After an hour, we left.

If you have the opportunity to visit Nurtured by Nature, DO IT! The owners are genuine and accommodating. In addition to the fun activities, I learned about the animals we were visiting with as well. We visited with a sloth, a paca, held an armadillo, fed and pet a porcupine and lemur. We had fun play time with several baby otters and had about an hour of pool time with adult otters. This was such a memorable experience. I forgot I was a 32 year old adult and giggled like a little girl all day long!

Fantastic orchards. Park your car. Pick up a pail at the fruit stand and jaunt around the orchards, There are oodles and oodles of persimmon trees of two varieties. Also pomegranate trees. You can walk freely around the property as you pick (and sample) the fruit. It was so much fun. When you're done have your fruit weighed, pay and go. The persimmons were .70lb and pomegranates $1.00/lb. There were many other people there who came to pick fruit when we were there. Recommended. Great activity for friends or families.

Had the pleasure of visiting here on Saturday and had a delightful High Tea with my daughter-in-law and 3 of her friends. Although the flowering season of the lavender was over, we sat on the porch which offered us a gorgeous view of the valley and the farm and enjoyed our afternoon tea served on Royal Albert chinaware. Finished the day by purchasing a few lavender items. The ladies at the residence were extremely nice and very friendly. Would love to go back there when the lavender is in bloom.
