Located between forest and rivers near Tapanti National Park in Orosi, (Cartago, Costa Rica) Queveri is a place where agriculture and nature combine to offer you an unforgettable experience. The Arreo tour consists of an experiential activity in Finca Agropecuaria Queveri. It consists of going to the paddocks of the farm, and herding the cattle (with the support of Queveri staff) all the way to the old dairy. While doing it, you can enjoy the views and learn about the importance of the place. If the weather let us do so, the tour is going be completed with a visit to the viewpoint, where you can see the volcanic mountain range of Costa Rica (Poas Volcano, Barva Volcano, Irazu Volcano, and Turrialba Volcano) and Tapanti National Park. At the viewpoint, you can visit the Piedras del Alto and mark them with your name to remember that you were there. Finally, we will have lunch at La Fonda del Alto, a small restaurant ran by the owners, where Costa Rican food is served in 4 courses
Honestly I am not one that loves the outdoors, however Costa Rica & this Horseback Tour completely changed that. I mean the view from on top of the mountain is amazing. Being able to ride the horse as if you lived and worked on the farm was so much fun& simply being that close to cows, being able to feed them, listen to them & guide them was a once in a life time experience. During this tour they also offer fresh made juices & lunch which by the way was amazing. I know it was also an air B and B, I personally did not stay but the location was very nice and I wouldn’t mind staying next time I go back. DEFF recommend!

I studied journalism, I trained in tourism, marketing and basketball. I have had the opportunity to work in Education. I live in Orosi for 3 years. I enjoy the nature, walks and ecological wealth of Orosi. The experience prompted me to develop the Coffee Tour on the property of Don Mario Coto, in Café Artesanal Los Sauces, a nice place to live the processing experience and enjoy a rich 100% pure coffee.

Only an hour's drive from San Jose, this dense rainforest remains largely obscure.
We have been living in Costa Rica for several months and are nearing the end of our stay. We're going to places we really want to see before we leave. The Orosi Valley is one of those places on my list. There are quite a few things you can do in or near the Valley. We chose this park because our guide books said there were quetzals near the ranger station. My daughter really wants to see a quetzal before we leave. However, when we got to the entrance, the ranger told us there are no quetzals by the entrance. That was disappointing. It was pouring rain when we got there - bring rain gear because this place gets a ton of rain each year - and we weren't prepared. I started to regret our decision to come. My guidebook said the entrance fee was $2/person. However, the prices are $10/adults and $5/kids. Again, I was wondering if that was too high a price if it would be pouring rain down on us. We drove to the lookout point (mirador) and walked to the top of the stairs and saw a lovely forest with a waterfall. We then took the hiking trail that leads to a waterfall. We saw the rainforest, waterfalls, a hanging bridge, a river, and more waterfalls. All along the river and waterfalls are small, medium, and enormous sized rocks. Our kids loved looking at all the rocks, climbing over them like mountain goats, and wading in the water. The river water was cold. I wouldn't plan to swim in it. But the sun came out and the temperature was lovely and we just explored the area and had such a great time. It reminded me of the Rocky Mountain streams I played in as a child. On the hike back up, we heard beautiful birds calling, bird calls we had never heard before. Other than a few birds, we didn't see any animals or wildlife while we were there. So while the park lists anteaters, tapirs, and monkeys as residents, I would not count on seeing any unless you have a guide or are hiking the less-traveled trails. We spent the day in and around the Orosi Valley and this place alone made the entire day worth the 6 hours we spent in the car getting to and from the Valley. I would highly recommend it. One last thing: the roads going to this park are filled with pot holes that collect water. I wish the government responsible for these roads would fix them. We rented a 4-wheel drive SUV and I'm glad we had it. I have never seen so many potholes - some quite deep - in my life. You also have to cross more than one bridge with a warning sign that translates to "bridge in bad state." I wish the government would fix those bridges. My husband walked and inspected one suspension bridge before we drove across it. There was also a recent mud slide opposite the park. While all of these things may deter you from going, I would suggest that these things make the park more remote and less traveled and thus worth exploring.

What a treasure! The Fransicans left a trove of art and religious icons from the last several centuries in this OLD church and museum. Very interesting!!!!

It has been a while I don’t write a comment for TripAdvisor but after visiting Thermal Hacienda Orosi this week, I really believe they deserve a proper and fair feedback. I’ve were at first unsure of wanting to visit this place due to some negative reviews provided by other visitors in the past but I really wanted to go to a hot springs or thermal spring water place without having to drive over 04 hours to La Fortuna; Alajuela... With that said, Hacienda Orosi did surprise us quite a bit, their staff and personnel attention and customer service was excellent, specially for Baldir at the thermal area, Corina at the Farm and don Hector from reception. Thermal Hacienda Orosi is definitely an amazing place to visit for an one day trip; a short drive of a bit of an hour from downtown San José, a quite nice ride by the way; is located next to Tapanti National Park, in the province of Cartago. The property rock star is with no doubt the mineral thermal hot spring waters. There’re five “endless-infinito” type of pools with different temperatures from 33C up to 39C and a cascade fall, all surrounded by a spectacular view while relaxing in the pool. Big difference between Hacienda Orosi mineral thermal hot springs than the rest of hot springs we can find in Costa Rica like near to the volcano areas (La Fortuna, Miravalles, Rincón de la vieja, etc.) is the origin. Hacienda Orosi Mineral thermal hot spring are originated from underground tectonic plates cracks that are charged of a variety of minerals while volcanic thermal hot springs are mainly charged of sulfur and magma. Beside the mineral thermal water, Hacienda Orosi also offers different activities to keep you busy included in the fee... First, there’s an exotic animal farm very well classified with each animal especies information that allowed us to learn and enjoyed big time. The animal tour can take about an hour or a bit more on your own pace. Secondly, there're walking trails, although is still under construction but the main trail is completed, that allow you to climb up few feets from the ground where you can delight a spectacular view to the whole valley of Orosi. Third, the mud therapy, this is a “must” try experience no matter if you’re fan or not of this kind of skin treatment, the benefits for your skin are well known with a mud bath or mask. Super fun! Fourth, the Restaurant... they have an impressive menu, honestly didn’t expect much as most likely restaurants at this type of facilities are mainly fast food but no, it was delicious, unbelievable but true! We were happy to give a try and it was so worth it, the ingredients were fresh, specially the shrimps were cooked perfectly - “ardiente”, just great! We ordered “Chupe de Camarón” and “Arroz con Camarones”. And finally’ the last but not least, more projects on the way about to launch on next month of April or May or sometime soon in summer 2021, new cabins “casitas” so you can spend day and night with nature and experience how’s like to be at the “rainiest” place of Costa Rica. Must be interesting! Beside, there’s nothing more desirable than a bed to lie on after a good soak in hot springs instead of having to drive back home. Please don’t get me wrong nor discouraged to visit the place about the fact of the rain, is just a interesting fact to share about Tapanti National Park which is next to the property but you do get lots of sunny moments during the day, even windy moments and cloudy skies. Is common in this area be surrounded by “micro-climas”, which means you can experience all different weather or climates in a very short period of time but all at once during the day, which makes Costa Rica so desirable for tourists to visit. Overall, bottom line, super recommend, definitely enjoyable place to visit! Just keep in mind that is a small thermal-hot spring but selective, “classy” and peaceful place, you won’t find crowd here, which is a plus in pandemic time.
