We didn’t do any hiking in the Park as my husband is limited with walking, but we did enjoy a beautiful drive to the top with one stop at a Lookout point!
What a view! Absolutely gorgeous! It was a clear day so you could see for miles. At the top there is a short hike up which I took- and you can view the entire area with markings that tell you what your viewing.
A morning well worth spent!

We spent a week on Orcas and bought some combo of oysters, clams, crabs, salmon, and smoked salmon to eat at home five out of seven days.

While we started calling it Hundred Buck Bay, the value was there so it didn't bother us.

I've also heard that eating there is a good option with a gorgeous view!

Buck Bay was a true highlight of our trip. *Big Smile*

5 starts for the horses and the trip, 1 star for the company.
We set a meeting with them in Orcas Moran Park at a specific time. there is no Cell coverage there (known fact), and when we arrived they were not there, waiting 15m, then went down to the beach leaving them a note on meeting place.
Went up 30m after, and they arrived late from a previous trip claiming that people and horses are in predictable.

Then we spent pretty much the trip looking for a phone that had dropped from the previous trip.

Not sure there are other options on the island as the trip is very nice, look around

Kayaking at Spring Bay Inn

On a guided kayak tour we'll watch for bald eagles, harbor seals, river otters, sea birds, and an amazing variety of tidal sea life as we ply the waters of the San Juans. We use double kayaks, fiberglass, with all equipment provided.

We did a two hour family trip with them in July 08. Before we started, Sandy made she we were all properly fitted with spray skirts, and asked us how hard we wanted to work, easy trip, medium, or hard paddle. We chose medium, being somewhat experienced paddlers, and that's exactly what it was.

The location of the inn is beautiful. During our two hour paddle we saw 4 bald eagles right next to the shoreline, two eagle nests, a hauled out seal from about 20 feet away, lots of underwater starfish and the beautiful scenery. Sandy was incredibly knowledgeable of the area and had great stories to tell about her past and Orcas Island. We got the full two hours. Fantastic trip.

Never once did we feel that we were just 4 more people they needed to take care of. Even though they have been doing this for 18 years (I think that's what she said) Sandy treated us like it was the most important tour she has done. Great person, highly recommended for all abilities.

Also, even though we did not stay at the inn (their rooms only hold 2 and we had 4) I would recommend you check it out. Incredibly beautiful.

When you visit Orcas, this is a must stop destination. As you drive toward Doe Bay, continue straight into "downtown Olga". Jerry's studio is on the right. Stop in, say hello and purchase a beautiful piece to take home with you. Jerry will ship larger pieces as well. He creates a wide variety of styles and shapes. Pick up a gift or buy a salad bowl that is also a work of art.

Summit Learning Center

Come learn about the natural and human history at the summit of Mt. Constitution. We are staffed by volunteers and all donations support Moran State Park. Come see our live newt exhibits or our kokanee tank. Learn about the television broadcast history by KVOS. Great hands on activities for kids and adults 11 am to 4 pm rain or shine.

This new center is aimed at kids, but there is good information here for all ages. Friendly staff, and great posters of the islands from space. Alas, no newts when we were there.
