Sunshine Rafting has operated on the Stanislaus River out of Knights Ferry, CA for over 30 years. This family-friendly, low-cost trip is perfect for those looking for a scenic and relaxing float trip on the river. This trip is popular among all age groups and is a great value for a full day trip.
Sunshine Rafting Adventures gave the group I was in a great experience. They instructed us quickly and fully, knew the river well, set-up guides along the way, and had good-quality equipment. They only lack in their picture efforts (I had to search through dozens to find one I was in), but nevertheless, they did a great job overall.

I wish this place was open more often they are only open during the lavender blooming season and then they are very busy. They offer crafting classes and boxed lunches, all of which we have participated in and have no complaints.

Not expecting an "upscale" cheese factory in Oakdale, but a nice surprise. Their specialty seemed to be Gouda, and all the samples were great. Nice little gift shop with all the clever and cute cheese accoutrements, and a viewing window in the back where we watched them "wash" cheese and move the rounds for circulation. A grilled Gouda sandwich was for sale, which I would pass on, as it was tasteless and greasy to me. Bonus were cheese curds, with a nice squeak. The outside boasted a lovely lake shaded by large cheese, complete with ducks and picnic tables. A nice oasis in the desert.

River Journey Adventures has operated on the Stanislaus River out of Knights Ferry, CA for over 30 years. This family-friendly, low-cost trip is perfect for those looking for a scenic and fun float trip on the river. This trip is popular for ages 5 and up.
Our best adventure in NZ so far. It is by far better than any of the activities in Queenstown which are all overpriced. Here in Wanaka you get better deal. The river journey on the jet boat is just as thrilling as those in Queenstown but this is for far longer and the sights of the alpine mountains are simply breathtaking. The hike was a bit short but nonetheless quite enjoyable. If there is one thing to do here in Wanaka this is it.

Excellent stop for anyone interested in the cowboy history of "The Cowboy Capitol of the World"! When you finish there you can mosey over to the favoured watering hole of the locals, the H-B Saloon (that's pronounced 'H bar B' for you non-cowboy types!)

Memorial Day weekend, 2016. Horrific! There are no volume controls at the gate. This place was completely over sold and crowded. It resembled Woodstock without the rain and mud! The public bathrooms are completely ignored by the reservoir staff and were a health hazard. The children in our party that were in the lake were attacked by sand mites and had to be seen by a physician a few days later. NEVER, NEVER AGAIN!

Considered one of the five best dinner trains in the West, the historic Sierra operates year-round from the town of Oakdale, CA (near Modesto & Stockton). Beer Trains and murder mystery shows are the most well-known trips, but we also offer the High Noon Express, detailing the history of this movie railroad, and the Old Vine Express with wine tasting! Trips take 2.5+ hours.
My husband took the High Noon Express, a 2½-hour round trip from Oakdale. We bought “premium” tickets, which included a lunch and the option of up to four drinks per person, including small glasses of beer or wine offered on a “tasting” menu (you could even keep the souvenir glass if you wanted to).
Lunch consisted of two airline-style servings of different kinds of salad, a bag of chips, and two very pretty spiral Turkey “wraps.” It all tasted good, and the wraps were visually interesting as well. The two women who took care of us in the premium car were very friendly and attentive. The seats were comfortable, and the trip overall was pleasant and relaxing.
Unfortunately, if you’re expecting scenery, you’re pretty much out of luck. The view consisted of farm animals, fruit trees, and grape vines: a good sampling of California’s Central Valley “breadbasket,” but not really much to look at. The company does offer themed rides, for instance a “murder mystery” one, and perhaps one of those would have been livelier.

I was expecting a lot more history artifacts their. So I was disappointed because of this. The parking was very limited as well and their lighting inside was very poor especially for the seeing impared
