Pupukea Beach Park

This location is great for children to swim.

Pupukea tide pools to the left, Shark's Cove to the right. Pools are not deep, mostly walkable - but bring water shoes. Shallow, and barefoot can hurt. Can be hard to maneuver in Snorkel gear. Saw the prettiest little Snowflake eel here, about 18 inches, lots of endemic fish. Really a great spot for kids and little ones. Shark's Cove is to the right of the restrooms. Better depth here and therefore better to Snorkel, or dive. Fish were incredibly abundant: some massive schools of 500 (or so), Green Sea Turtles, eel, and a nice array of Parrot Fish. Visibility to about 60 feet. Visited Thanksgiving week and were told to select a day with little to no surf, as it can make swimming difficult, reduce visibility and possibility cause injury. Picked the right day apparently as it was absolutely fantastic... One of the best I've experienced in the Islands. Notes: go early to get a decent parking spot. The small lot fills up early, by 10am or so. Across the street are several eateries, and a market just next door.

Sharks Cove

My family went to several places during our stay in Oahu for snorkeling and our favorite spot is definitely Shark’s Cove! Deeper and more interesting undersea terrain to explore than Hanauma Bay, lots lots of fish and some corals, and we also saw a turtle! We prefer early morning snorkeling and when we arrived from Waikiki at around 8am, there were only a few cars in the parking lot, way less crowded than Hanauma Bay. As others suggested, wear marine shoes, be careful when you enter the rocks, do not step on or touch the reef and you should be fine!

One of our best memories of Oahu will always be our wonderful day spent at PCC. Top two things on our list: The Super Ambassador Package that came with an amazing Guide, Eugene Lucerna, the experience without him would not have been the same. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra dollars and buy this package. Eugene took great care to make sure we didn’t miss any of the villages and shows we were interested in. We were always on time for all the events, had front row seats, and most important - shade for the canoe parade! He also made sure we were always comfortable since it was such a hot day. Eugene really went above and beyond in his duties as tour guide, and he made our visit to PCC one of our best days on Oahu!! Last, but not least, the spectacular Ha Breath of Life Show at the end of the night. It was better than some of the Broadway shows that I have seen in NYC. Definitely, I highly recommend the PCC while visiting Oahu!"

Laniakea Beach

We drove to this beach to see turtles that usually arrive around 11 am. The first time we went it was very cool temperatures and rain - there were two people watching for the turtles but told us most likely they would not come to shore due to the tempertures. We returned the next day and were not disappointed. Laniakea Beach has a small parking area which has you crossing a very busy road I would highly recommend going early and being patient if you want to see turtles.

Laie Point State Wayside Park

We had passed this place over last year, but glad we stopped. It was a windy day and the ocean was churning, but we were mesmerized by the beauty of Laie Point. It is literally at the end of a small subdivision, decent parking. Get out of the car and walk around the point - beautiful scenery on either side - wave crashing into the rock formation, stunning shades of blue in the ocean...take your camera!

Beautiful spot to admire mother nature & her turtles... we had a swim in the warm clean and clear water and had a chance to see the turtles landing on the beach to sunbath. One NEEDS to stay 3metres away from those marine creatures to let them enjoy their beach.

I am a natural gardener and learned some new ideas on this tour: how apple bananas propogate, how cacao is grown and processed, that a low-growing peanut shrub makes a great cover crop, and that I love lilikoi (passion fruit). Inspired by their static hydroponic system for growing greens that does not need electricity! They served a delicious array of locally-grown fruit afterwards! Our guide was super knowledgable about organic growing processes too!

We loved our virtual tour and learned so much about the Temple, the grounds, and the history. We also enjoyed the model of the Temple including the architecture of this beautiful edifice. Sister Brown and Sister Morris were excellent tour guides and we loved their testimonies of the Gospel.
