What a great afternoon adventure. First off, I’m not a hiker… but, I’m trying! My sister and I decided to take a couple of hours (honestly that is all it takes) and go see Donut Falls. Google Maps takes you right to the trail head. There is a very tiny parking lot located at the beginning of the trail. It also has a bathroom for your convenience. We got one of the spots, but we noticed that people also parked along the sides leading up to the lot, too. When we started, we were not sure which path to take! There were no signs indicating which way to go to see the Falls. But, someone who had been there before told us which way to go. Just walk up behind the restrooms and you are on the path to see Donut Falls. When you start, it is a bit of an incline. But, it does level out after a little effort. The trail is very obvious, and while on the hike there are signs indicating which way to go. There is one area where you climb down a rock, and you do have to balance on stones to keep from getting your feet wet. It’s so very pretty and peaceful! My advice is wear good shoes that have some grip – they might get wet. Bring a light jacket, it is cooler up there.
