North Port is a city in southern Sarasota County, Florida, United States. The population was 57,357 at the 2010 census. It is part of the North Port–Bradenton–Sarasota Metropolitan Statistical Area. It was originally developed by General Development Corporation as the northern or Sarasota County part of its Port Charlotte development. We are the single-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays and the only minor league baseball team in Charlotte County. Although we are a baseball team, there is something for everyone with the Stone Crabs including nightly on-field entertainment.
Sometimes you can sit in your car 30-60 minutes waiting in line to turn into that park. Why not an entrance from the back or side. If it's hot out I like to drink wine....the whole park frequently runs out quickly. Sometimes you can wait 30minutes in line for food. Bathrooms are plenty and are clean

Only truly hilly course that I know of in FL. Course and greens all redone and upgraded in 2016. Club has 27 holes, so one can switch to get the feeling of 3 courses.
The grill is small, but the food is excellent and the staff and members are very friendly.
There are also 5 very modern and properly measured and watered tennis courts with court times of 2 hours and a neat system that allows anyone to play in the round robins without having to sign up in advance.
There is also a workout area which is not huge, but very adequate and has TV's and music choices should you want them.
We visited from our home in Naples 2 or 3 times and were so impressed that we moved here. Unlike Naples, the population of Heron Creek is roughly 60% full time vs. about 20% in Naples. So friendships seem to come easier and become more long lasting. It's a great place.

The Cultural Center serves an important function in Charlotte County. We have attended several special events in the well-appointed theater. The center also has a variety of classes, Mahjong and bingo games, thrift shops, a cafeteria, coffee shop, and an adequate Fitness Center. Many special yearly vendor days draw large crowds. The building also houses a public library branch

I had heard of this location when searching for things to do. We rode past on the way to a wildlife tour and stopped in on our way back. It is truly awe inspiring. It is hard to not to be overcome by the amount of sacrifice embodied here.

At a temperature of 87 degrees, Warm Mineral Springs contains 9 million gallons of fresh water which replenishes itself every two hours. This natural resource is comprised of 51 minerals, which is the highest mineral content of any natural spring in the United States. The spring has been added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places partly because it is one of the most important underwater archeological sites in America. During exploratory dives in the 1950s, the remains of a prehistoric hunter and seven other humans were discovered in a very well preserved state. Similarly, evidence of several creatures have been extracted from the spring, including saber tooth tigers, giant sloths, tortoises, and even camels. Today, with a goal of increased wellness for everyone, Warm Mineral Springs offers a natural experience to residents and visitors alike who want to soak in the warm waters.
We went in January when the temperature was 60. Lucky it was a nice sunny day because it was very windy so it felt cooler. It was a very relaxing day however when they say warm, they mean warm not hot. I guess we were expecting a little warmer water but it was fine as long as you stayed in the water. I think this would be a great place on a hot day!

Due to the severe drought in the area Ollie's Pond has been reduced to a few square feet of water surrounded by mud and weeds. Hopefully it was a historic visit and it will be replenished without major impact after the rainy season. There were about 4 stilt with babies and a few flycatchers. If you visit the area frequently it will be an opportunity to compare and contrast for the next visit. If you are an out of town visitor skip it this year.
