We are now open for our 12th year. Since 2010 we've had pet friendly, old-fashioned outdoor fun for every age to make special memories together. There's mini golf, gem mining, gold panning, skeet shooting, boat tours on Lake Apalachia with waterfalls & tubing, paintball arcades -shoot at targets- so it's fun for 4 yr olds to 88 yr olds. "Just for kids": mini race track, and free playground. Bring a picnic lunch to our shady picnic areas and pavilions for grilling out. Cabins & RV spots on site. Covered activities for rain or shine. Our new 2100 sq ft. event center can be reserved for weddings, reunions, & parties. There's also a wedding arbor by the pond. It's out in the country, but worth the beautiful drive. Reservations are required for boat tours, cabins & event venue. The perfect destination for an afternoon or week-long celebration! Discounts for groups, military, seniors, & 1st responders. Take a swim or fish at nearby Lake Apalachia.
What a great Hidden Gem nestled into the mountain! The prices of this place where great for a large family budget stay. We stay at the Loft cabin and it was perfect for 2 teens, 7 littles and three adults. Really enjoyed teaching the young ones about batminton. We did all the things Paint ball, gem mining, wagon rides, golf, mini cars. The extras that this place has to offer are great. Our cabin was an animal friendly cabin and I was so surprised to see it as clean as it was. I couldn't even tell that a dog or cat has been there prior to! It was also super quiet and very family-friendly! They are very friendly and courteous and make sure that you have everything you need, great customer service.

We are a small hobby farm located in Murphy NC. We offer tours of our farm to include interacting with the animals, Q and A with the owners about the animals, feeding some of the animals, alpaca walks, and just a little "farm therapy" for those in need. A little Aloha Spirit in the Blue Ridge Mountains...come visit Shaka Alpaca today!
We had the best time visiting the Shaka Alpaca Farm. The hosts are such amazing and wonderful people. You can tell they love their animals and what they do and kept us thoroughly entertained and educated for the entire visit! It’s so great for families with kids. Our son is 20 months and even though he was a little disinterested in the alpacas, goats, chickens and bunnies, he absolutely loved the barn kitten. We HIGHLY recommend a visit to the Shaka Alpaca Farm! And a trip to the farm store after! The honey and the blackberry and strawberry preserves are delicious!

Overall I was very very impressed with the trails. They are very very well marked and they're a lot of fun. It was a great workout doing the grape smugglers trail which is about two miles. I can also see where this would be a great mountain biking place. The only issue that I had was getting up to the trails themselves. Once you get onto the access road which is narrow for one car and it's one way in and out, it's a bit of a steep climb after the parking area. The path is not paved and had it rained I likely would have needed a four-wheel drive truck to get up there. not really sure you would want to take a sedan on that patch to get up to the top, there are plenty of areas they have significant bumps and lots of ups and downs, my SUV made it just fine being a two-wheel drive but again it was dry conditions. Once you get up there though, it's an absolute gem of a place. Plenty of thick canopy, I do suggest some insect repellent, but beautiful creeks and waterways, just a really great hike, and it's wonderful that there are multiple trails that you can choose from short and easy too long and medium difficulty.

Fields of the Wood is a Bible based theme park located in the Great Smoky Mountains. From Prayer Mountain to Ten Commandment Mountain and to the All Nations Cross, God's word unfolds through marble and stone. Admission is free, but donations are welcome. The park is open daily from sunrise to sunset. The Gift Shop and Cafe hours vary according to the season.
Very interesting place to visit. It has been created to be a spiritual place. One will find the Ten Commandments written on a grassy hill. One can walk to the top of the hill. This was a very peaceful and quite.
