Established in 1968, Manyung Gallery Group is well known for being one of Melbourne’s largest and longest running contemporary art spaces. With three galleries in Mount Eliza, Sorrento and Malvern, Manyung Gallery is directed by Sharyn and David Wemyss-Smith who pride themselves on showcasing contemporary and traditional works of art by established and emerging visual artists sourced across Australia. The gallery's selection includes original oil, acrylic and water-colour paintings as well as fine art prints, sterling silver jewellery, glass, ceramic, steel, bronze, wood and mixed media sculpture and photography. Each gallery showcases monthly exhibitions of new works, which are supported by artist talks, workshops, and other events that engage the wider community. Manyung Gallery Mount Eliza is located at the gateway to the Mornington Peninsula. Recently relocating to Mount Eliza Village, the new gallery has approximately 100 pieces of artwork, sculpture and jewellery on display, offering friendly art consultation and advise. Manyung Gallery Group artists are represented in important collections including: the Vatican Museum Collection; Art Gallery of New South Wales; Art Gallery of South Australia; Arts Victoria; ArtBank; Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery; Broken Hill Regional Art Gallery; Burnie Regional Art Gallery Tasmania; and Warrnambool Art Gallery. Additionally our artist have works held within ANZ Bank; National Australia Bank; Australian Reserve Bank; Australia Post; Telstra; Price Waterhouse Coopers; Crown Casino; Mobil; BP Australia; Monash University and the University of Technology NSW. Manyung’s artists also have works in the Australian Embassy Washington DC and the Embassy of Switzerland.
