We drove from the Twin Cities to see Ween perform here. We weren't sure what to expect, but the quality of the venue was a very pleasant surprise. It helped that the weather was excellent. The stage and setting were beautiful, very convenient to the interstate, while feeling farther out. All seats provide a good view. Staff were very professional, helpful and friendly.

The Hjemkomst Center museum offers a snapshot of local history and culture in the Upper Midwest, featuring the Hjemkomst Viking Ship, Moorhead's Hopperstad Stave Church, and a rotation of art and history exhibitions. The Hjemkomst Center is directed by the Historical and Cultural Society of Clay County, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to the preservation of the history of Clay County and presenting its rich heritage with exhibitions, events, and programming. The museum's flagship exhibition is the Hjemkomst Center Ship Gallery, where photographs, recordings, and an award-winning documentary chronicle the construction of the 76-foot, hand-built Viking ship and its incredible 6,000-mile voyage across the Atlantic in 1982.
The Hjemkomst Viking ship was a treat to the eyes. Make sure to take in the 20 minute movie about the builder and the sail to Norway. It will give you a wonderful background information on this labor of love by a local man, Robert Asp. The Hopperstad Stave Church is also not to be missed. Be sure to check out the construction and discover the small door which is on the right side of the building. (I won't tell you everything). This is a replica building but is well done. Inside the museum there are rotating displays. This would be a great activity for a rainy day. Suggested time is probably just over an hour if you include the movie. The only warning I have is that when we were in the parking lot we were approached by local individuals. This happened when we arrived and when we left. They weren't pushy, but did ask for money. Just something to be aware of. I am not sure if this is common. Regardless, they were harmless so it should not keep you away from this site.

CLOSED for the season through May 2020. Built by Solomon G. Comstock in 1883, the Victorian home showcases the popular styles of the time, blending Queen Anne and Eastlake designs. Comstock was a U.S. representative, banker, and helped to build James J. Hill's railroad. He and his wife Sarah Ball raised three children in the home.
