A park best known for its rock climbing.
The campsites are great....most sites are surrounded by trees for privacy and seclusion. Pads are paved and fairly level. Connectivity (Verizon) was good. The Cross Timbers trails were closed as a result of heavy rains but we walked along the Trailway which was flat, straight, and had enough gravel to alleviate problems with mud. We also hiked in Penitentiary Hollow and onto the Red Trail... Both were very muddy, but Penitentiary Hollow was amazing. Not something I would have expected to see in Texas. Do not miss this part of the park!

Mineral Wells was know for many years as the South's Greatest Health Resort and the city "Where America drinks its way to Health." The Famous Mineral Water Company was established in 1904 by Ed Dismuke. The Famous continues to bottle the waters that brought health seekers to Mineral Wells a century ago. The historic Crazy Water mineral water is now only available through the Famous Mineral Water Company.
We come here when we come to Mineral Wells. Now they have sparkling water and sparkling sodas. They also sell pecan nuts and some souvenir items.

Walk along a very rustic 1 mile trail at historic Pollard Park. Read the stories and see pictures of the pioneer cattle drivers Goodnight and Loving who got their start near the park. Learn how others pioneered the beginning of the west and Palo Pinto County. Abundant wildlife, rock formations and birds.
I discovered this place right here on TripAdvisor. Keep leaving reviews at these off the beaten path places. This is a moderate to difficult mountain bike trail.

I have stayed at the Haunted Hill House many times and have come away with different paranormal activity each and every time! I’ve recorded a shadow person watching me, heard foot steps coming down the stairs, sounds like furniture being moved upstairs, and have seen tons of orbs and doors opening/shutting on there own! The EVPs and portal say my name all the time, and my name is NOT a common name (Sheena)! If you are into paranormal you MUST stay at this house! I have never stayed with the previous owner Phil, but the new owners Sonny and Kathy Estes are amazing people. They have done so much to improve the house. I will most definitely be a regular at this house. They even have paranormal equipment you can use and they show you how to use it! You must check this place out! Sheena Lawler
