Grey Towers is the family home of the Pinchot family. Gifford Pinchot was the first American born forester, and worked in Teddy Roosevelt's administration, before coming home to Pennsylvania and serving as governor twice.
Only the first floor of the house us open for most tours, although the entire house is occasionally viewable. It's an interesting place, with a vast entry hall, an interesting library and sitting room, and, out back, the best picnic table ever.
A separate building houses a place to view some short videos on the family and the house. I have to say I got a little chill watching JFK riding in that open convertible, barely two months before his death, when he came to dedicate the house as a national historic site.
There's a tiny little shop, with some interesting books and a few souvenirs.
I was surprised how many people were visiting on a weekday in October.

When we stopped at the Dingmans Falls Visitor Center we were told by the Ranger this is a must see Falls in the area because it is the tallest Falls in PA. But once we got there, we learned from a Ranger on site that only the path to the very top of the Falls was open. The other two trails to view the middle and bottom of the Falls were closed for renovations. The only path currently open is very short & easy but all you see if the top of the falls; not worth the drive so skip it until the main viewing areas are reopened.

Abe Lincoln certainly is loved by this museum! What neat things to share with the public. The flag that cradled Lincolns bleeding head, a replica of the revolver that killed him. Old phonographs, the old camps from the area and so much more. It took us about an hour and a half to walk through as we stopped and chatted by exhibits. The theater must have been something else in it's day. I count us lucky to have found this adventure.

A beautiful and serene DAY SPA in the Historical Milford Pa. We offer luxurious massages , facials ,slimming wraps and body scrubs and more.
Last weekend I hosted a 50th birthday celebration for a good friend at my Pa. home. We decided to have a "spa day" to help celebrate the occasion. We all (9 of us) had massages at Badea throughout the day. We enjoyed our treatments 3 at a time, while the others enjoyed walking around Milford shopping. Laura could not have been any more accommodating to our party! I brought in food and drinks and she supplied all of the necessary dishes, utensils, etc. She even provided "goody bags" with spa sample products at the end of our day! We had a wonderful day! Many thanks to Laura and Badea for helping to make a special friend's birthday even better! I will be back!

I have been visiting this cafe for their scones for probably around 20 years.
As a kid I loved walking through the building to watch how the mill works. There are different views depending on the level you're on. You can watch the water wheel fill up. There used to be tours. ..I don't know if they still do that.
There are little shops there too (I miss "Gifford and White")
As for the food, I have only had breakfast there once and it was very nice.
However, the scones are delicious and keep me coming back. I've had the cranberry, the buttermilk raisin but my absolute favorite is the one with the cinnamon frosting. I've had a lot of scones at a lot of places but this one has remained my favorite.

It is clear that those who tend to the the Upper Mill love what they do. The building is in great shape as well as the mill and explanation diagrams and drawings.
The Mill is open for visitors and there is no fee, you could and should leave a donation in a box.
I always thought that millers had the good life back in the day.
Turns out that a mill is a machine the size of a three floors high building, and that all the dust was not good for health lungs.
As important are the country shop and a Bar and Restaurant that are in the same building.
This can take 15 minutes or an hour, depending on how much knowledge you want to accumulate.

I spent the day discovering the gems of Milford. This was my fav. The owner, John Longendorfer, is so genuine and loves to talk about history. He and his wife have quite a collecting of their family heirlooms in their museum room. Their artwork is fantastic. Very reasonable prices. But the chat I enjoyed with Mr. Longendorfer? Priceless!

Definitey worth taking a peak into this store. You never know what you might leave with.

I believe my son's are at the age where this will be there only time here. They enjoyed themselves and there were a lot of younger (6-10 years of age) children having a good time. Staff was friendly and helpful. There was a more than normal problem with the games though. Several were not working or were not spitting out tickets. Good rainy afternoon option for parents and their children.

Took my cubscout den here on Thursday and we all had a blast. For $5 admission you get a great atmosphere and every game imaginable. They had a great selection of fairly priced treats like bottomless coffee And popcorn. The owner is so nice and friendly like your visiting an old friend. Can't wait to go back
