I have been to the Alden Dow office and home many times and I never tire of its beauty and history. I always learn something new and find another architectural achievement to be in awe of. His home reflects the humble yet complicated man he was. The space is absolutely gorgeous, fun, innovative and livable and surrounded by a magnificent landscape, the Dow Gardens. A definite must see in Midland. The docents are fabulous.

The Chippewa Nature Center is a wonderful resource for people in the area and a fun attraction for visiting nature lovers. The Center includes acres of natural land to explore on your own, but they also host events (check their website!) if that's more your style. If you live nearby, I highly recommend their programs and summer camps for children. Your kids will have a blast and learn a lot about the natural world and Chippewa culture. If you're planning a visit, check out Maple Syrup Day (usually in February or March), where you can help craft maple syrup and enjoy the fruits of your labor with a delicious pancake lunch!

Centrally located in downtown Midland, beautiful Dow Diamond is easily accessible from Business US 10. The state-of-the-art facility is home to the Great Lakes Loons, Class A affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Loons played their inaugural game at Dow Diamond on April 13, 2007. Over 324,000 fans flocked to Dow Diamond that first season, and over 2 million total since. Dow Diamond has established itself as one of the premier minor league stadiums in the country, earning several awards in the process.
Every time I am at Dow Diamond for a Great Lakes Loons game, it is always an awesome experience. They have a great atmosphere and keep even those who don’t like baseball games entertained. Whenever in the area, make sure to grab some tickets, some ballpark food, and get ready to jam out to their awesome music and make sure to catch a game that ends in fireworks!

Since being established in 1899, as a home for Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow and family, the 110-acre Dow Gardens now welcomes more than 300,000 guests per year. Visitors are invited to leave the pathway and explore the uniquely-designed landscape, take a tour of the historic Pines Home, participate in one of many hands-on educational programs, and discover beautiful art and music in a relaxed setting. Dow Gardens is comprised of an Estate Garden, Exploration Garden, and Whiting Forest, which is home to the nation’s longest forest canopy walk.
This is a wonderful adventure particularly for young children. Gorgeous interactive water feature. Send rubber duckies down the river, climb giant rocks, swing, walk through the forest, or climb on the rope bridge in the tree tops. They also have nice seating for parents, coffee and pastries.
