Farm Fresh, non-GMO Produce, Bakery, U-Pick Fruits/Vegetables, Family Fun, Attractions, Concerts & Sunday Outdoor Worship Services. Mission To provide healthy home grown farm products, agricultural education, and fine family entertainment at reasonable prices to our local and surrounding community. Stade's Farm & Market is located in scenic McHenry County in northeastern Illinois approximately 50 miles from Chicago. We produce 2,200 acres of crops that range from traditional corn and soybeans to specialty crops including many fruits and vegetables commonly grown in northern Illinois. Through our own farm market, we sell our fresh fruits and non-GMO vegetables directly to consumers in our local area. Our goal is to provide our customers with the finest quality produce possible.
We went Sunday right at ten am to go apple picking. There was only five rows (each only approximately half picked already) and were able to pick two varieties of apples- honey crisp and gala. The honey crisp were extremely large but very tasty. The gala were reasonable size but not ripe yet. It took us ten minutes to fill our two bags (one small one large). It was rather disappointing for our "day at the orchard". We put the apples in the car and decided to check out the activities area, however we were very disappointed that it was 15$ per person, even adults who wouldn't be "riding" anything. It seemed extremely steep and we chose to just stay in the free area (fun teeter tatter) and have a lemonade and cheese curds (both very good!) We then headed to the market were we tried a few things. We found the zucchini bread to be very dry when we got home. I will choose other apple orchards in the future this did not deliver the apple picking experience we were looking for and the activities area was very expensive. We were also disappointed by the number of people who were smoking on the grounds after it being marked a smoke free environment.

I’ve literally been driving past the Volo Auto Museum my entire life without ever stopping in. Finally decided to take my two 10 year old boys over for a Saturday afternoon.
Never realized exactly how big the entire place is, there are multiple buildings full of different types of vehicles. A majority of the vehicles displayed are also available for purchase.
Going once is probably enough to say you’ve been there and seen it. Neat place.

We certainly intend to be outfitted correctly for our next visit to take the larger/longer tour! We ran into a fellow who knew the bog so very well and he took us all around and told us about it - what a chance!

We've eaten here on several occasions (not during the dinner hour), and the service has always been extremely slow.
We liked the pizza, esp.
the thin butter crust one. The ribs are very tender. But the wings had a very hard breading and what they call "potato skins" is really just a whole potato cut in half with the skins toppings.
Probably a fun place in the summer with volleyball.
But we probably won't be back because of the service.

Joe Diamond is the Mystery Performer everyone is quietly talking about. Some call him a mind reader, others call him psychic, and still more call him a magician. You now have the chance to decide for yourself, up close and personal! Only 13 people will be admitted to his studio in the 'supposedly haunted' Dole Mansion in Crystal Lake for this unique experience. “If you don’t already worship at the feet of Joe Diamond, you should really get on board.” - Varla Ventura, author of “Beyond Bizarre” "Joe Diamond is the Devil" - WGN News "I am totally floored" - You & Me This Morning "That's impossible!" - The Today Show It doesn't matter if you are a believer or a skeptic, we predict you will have a good time!
Joe Diamond's show makes for a very fun, unusual night out. It's especially nice that it's for a smaller size audience, so everything happens close up; there's not a bad seat anywhere. It's obvious that Joe loves his work and loves entertaining; so much thought has gone into his performance, and it's great that he includes the audience as much as possible. We can't wait to return!

I've been here a few times in my life. This is a great hangout for bar types, bowlers or volleyball aficionados. Indoors is loud and a not well mannered, adult atmosphere. Outside is hard to get a wait staff member to attend to you and subject to the elements. This will be the place I go only if it is the last place open in the area.

We try to go walk here as often as possible. There is a good variety of different paths, of different lengths, to walk or ride a bike. In the fall, the autumn colors are gorgeous. There are also a fishing lake, park headquarters building, and picnic areas.

Yes, the auto museum is here too, but the antique mall is worth a few hours itself! If you are looking for something specific, you're likely to find it here. It's great for a bad-weather day, but don't go just to window shop because there's so much, you'll likely find something you'll want to buy. There are several levels, so it's not really stroller or wheelchair friendly though.

Absolutely beautiful area with swimming, fishing, gliding on water activities, hiking trails, picnic areas , water park for kids plus some really nice places to eat. The landscaping is beautiful leaning to native plants and if you just want to sit and enjoy the view you can do that too. A definite five star experience.

Summer fun...so glad this outdoor big screen movie theater continues to exist---a lovely throwback to my childhood! We love that films are paired/double features. There's digital projection; films can be classic or current. There's a playground and concessions stand, but you can bring your own food. Concession Food Prices are pretty standard to what most theaters charge. Very family friendly.
