Excellent venue for a movie theater. Like that you can reserve your seats in the upstairs viewing area. Very comfortable seating and the service is the best.

Had some friends come into town for golf. Being the weekend of the Waste Management Open, most local courses were booked solid and/or jacked their rates up. The Southern Dunes course was about 48 miles from my house (Northeast Scottsdale), so an early tee time meant some driving, and navigation at the start of rush hour.
This was a fairly challenging corse. From the tips about 7500, although we played from about 6500 yards. Course was in great shape. Greens good. Staff very friendly, helpful and outgoing. Played 36, so we started early and ended late. They had a 36 hole special with a free breakfast. Play early, as the casual/resort/under-experienced golfers will definitely slow play.
I would come back here again, but maybe for only 18, as it is kind of far for me. But central Phoenix, Mesa, South Phoenix all would be an easy drive. Go for it. There is also the Ak-Chin casino resort nearby, so go all out!

I love the Dwarf Car Museum! The workmanship that Ernie does is amazing. 2 Old guys with incredible vision & handmade building skills. That you can actually see the cars being made is super cool. I go there at least once a year, and it is a fun place to bring friends to.

Discover Hang Gliding! A memory you will never forget! Come take a flight with one of our certified hang glider instructors. Soar up to a mile high over the beautiful Sonoran Desert. Great for everyone, young and old, singles and groups. Located a short drive south of Phoenix. Your adventure begins by being towed up behind our special airplane, then release from the airplane and enjoy the amazing experience of free flight. Soar like a bird and then land effortlessly on wheels right back where you started. Reserve your flight today!
Both Paul and Luke were instrumental in making my flight at Sonora Wings unforgettable! From the thorough orientation pre-flight, right on through the actual tow to 2500 ft. and then the flight itself----words cannot really adequately describe the thrill...!
I'd have to agree that Hang Gliding is the "flyingest flying" .
Thanks Paul and Luke!

This was a spectacular experience out in the desert. This was less than an hour drive south of Phoenix.
I went for the ‘aerobatic’ experience, which I highly recommend. Surprisingly, there are no forms/waivers to sign before participating in this. However, you do have to strap on a parachute for the aerobatics, and know how to unbuckle your seatbelt and release the dome, just in case.
It was also fun to try handling the glider as well (e.g., turning left; turning right; levelling out).
For the aerobatics, we did back-to-back loops, and ‘hammer-heads’ (fly straight up; pivot; nose-dive down).
I discovered this attraction through Groupon. It provides a nice savings when compared to the advertised website rates. However, because I wanted the aerobatics, and the Groupon is for a non-aerobatic ride, I had to pay an extra $50 [even though their website advertises the non-aerobatic ride for $200 and the aerobatic option is the same at $200]. But it was worth it.
The same little airport offers sky-diving – so you could do both on the same trip! I could see the parachuting sky-divers from the glider.
Note, you cannot take your camera into the glider. But you can get a video of your experience for extra charge – which does not interest me. I would have preferred still photos from the wings, as they used on their website, but unfortunately this was not an option.

Nice layout, solid greens but this course needs to do things like: add sand to traps, have uniform tee box markers. Have ball washers that work. Overall course in good shape, greens moderate speed. Tee boxes pretty beat up. Golf carts almost all have ripped seats. Fronts of almost all greens are over watered.

I was scared to death but Dustin took great care of me. He kept me informed the whole trip so no unexpected surprises. Thanks for the ride of my life!

A very beautiful well kept park. it's kind of hidden in a residential area, but it has a playground, water feature, and plenty of green space. Easy parking.
