Originally named Elephant Bazaar, this six-story elephant-shaped building was built in 1881 by James V. Lafferty, Jr. in hopes of selling parcels of land located on the beach in Margate, New Jersey. Over the years, this unique structure has served many purposes -- most notably as a tourist attraction. Today, Lucy the Elephant is recognized as the Oldest Roadside Attraction in the United States and has been declared a National Historic Landmark. Guided Tours through the elephant structure occur every half-hour during business hours, with the last tour of the day beginning 30 minutes prior to closing. And don't forget to shop our Gift Shop for all of your elephant-themed items, including one-of-a-kind Lucy the Elephant souvenirs available nowhere else!
Tour, which is about every half hour, takes about 15 to 20 minutes, but worth it. Guide tells you about Lucy's history and remains available for questions. No bathrooms - go across street to restaurant (they allow it, as the restaurant uses Lucy's parking lot) but the men's room in restaurant has no changing table. Great views from the howdah of Atlantic and Ocean cities. Not something I would go to repeatedly, but go at least once. Inside staircases are narrow and twisting, so recommended that small ones be carried.

With its quaint storefronts, amusement rides and Music Pier, Ocean City is everything you'd expect from the real Jersey shore. This family-friendly town boasts a two-mile boardwalk dotted with amusements, pizza parlors, and seaside stores.
The Ocean a City, NJ Boardwalk has something for everyone except someone looking for alcohol. There are a variety of places to eat, ice cream and candy stores, amusement piers, water parks, arcades, various clothing, jewerly, etc. stores but no bars. The Boardwalk is safe, no bums or no people asking for cigarettes or money. B But the gulls will steal your pizza slice if you aren't careful.

Ocean fishing every day all year. Whale watching. Boat tour. Clean Fast, and Coast Guard Inspected. 22 passengers. Lots of fun for the family. Great outings for clients and fund raising.
Had a very enjoyable day out on the Stray Cat, rough seas and all. The boat is very clean and stable, with plenty of room to move about. The Captain and crew were very personable and willing to answer all questions(especially the ones from my young son).Their "open boat" daily trips are really a nice option. Planning on trying to get out again for stripers around Thanksgiving.

When was the last time you saw candy cigarettes? Shrivers has them, along with some iconic favorites (goldmine gum, rock candy) and some you can't believe still exist (pixie sticks, those wax soda shapes w/colored liquid). Go for the chocolate truffles in the glass cases or take home some boxed chocolates. Though I'm not a taffy fan, it was fund seeing it being made.

This high-energy casino offers a range of table games and daily poker tournaments. Their modern slot machines feature a rapid-pay ticket system so gamblers don't have to deal with carrying around coins.
I prefer to be on the Boardwalk, but you can't beat the upscale modern decor, service, restaurants and amenities of the Borgata.

Creative and fun vinyasa yoga classes to challenge and unify the body, mind and spirit. Classes pay careful attention to alignment in and out of postures and each student is encouraged to have a playful spirit. "Zen is to have the heart and soul of a child."
Great yoga class. Perfect mix of strength, flexibility and endurance. Awesome work out. Music is killer and Ari the main instructor rocks. Better then any yoga class I've ever taken in NYC or Philly. Def check it out.

Growing up, we went to Wildwood. As I started my own family, we continued to go to Wildwood- and then did a few summers in Florida. We decided one year to give Ocean City, New Jersey a try. We loved it. It is a dry town but there are restaurants and bars in nearby towns (a 5-10 minute drive). We love the south end and we stay there because of the quiet residential environment. We drive to the boardwalk when we go, which is only once or twice as we do not have young children. The beach is clean. We rent through Berger Realty each year and they are so easy to work with! I can’t wait to go back!

Stacey's is a great way for the kids to get out in the water. Awesome instructors, and they provide the boards. Couldn't be any easier… The kids get to play games on the beach when they get cold or tired too. My kid looks forward to this every year!
