One of the oldest lighthouses on the Great Lakes, it towers 65 feet into the air.
Pick a date the keeper's house, lifesaving station, and lighthouse are all open...great volunteers, museum, gift shop, and small fee to climb the lighthouse. We lucked into the annual Lakeside Perch Festival with a fish fry and vendors. Don't miss the Confederate Cemetery on a nearby island with a $2.00 bridge fee. Wonderful afternoon with great lake views including Cedar Point.

Small and very well taken care of Confederate cemetery. Very well worth the visit if you are in the area or looking for something to do. It is $2.00 in dollar bills to use the causeway to travel to the island..It is nice to see that all the graves of these veterans are taken care of as they should be, There is a spot with a marker that identifies the spot where the prison used to be. You should take the drive around the island while there and there is only one road and you cannot get lost.

I have been coming to this area since the 60's. I always have to visit this place before leaving. It is one of the best shops I have ever been in. It is a beautiful place to shop. Very unique items from jewelry, purses, shoes, clothing, soaps, bath products, perfumes, scarfs, food products, homemade fudge, distinct coffees and teas,a Christmas Shop, lighthouse items, souvenirs, tee shirts, all this in one building. On the back lot is a barn with a fenced in yard. They raise their own goats and sheep. Two other building on the property also sell beautiful items which some they weave there and sell. They use the sheep's wool to make sweaters and other items. Such a beautiful place to visit. Will always visit when in the area.
