Rest Lake Park is simply beautiful, The lake itself is a favorite, and you can see why when you're there. It is also the home of the "Skiing Skeeters" who have performed for decades twice a week. The new Pavilion, funded by Uline Corporation and its CEO, Liz Uhlein, is simply incredible, a true gem and gift to the area: it contains a fireplace, amazing restrooms, and high-quality, comfortable seating, tables and chairs. It is clear that both thought and resources were put into the pavilion. It is meticulously maintained, by Uline staff, who are exceptional representatives of Uline, and Mrs. Uhlein. We met and had the pleasure to speak with Dwight, who was cleaning up from the prior evening's festivities. What a delightful person, who was so knowledgeable about the area. Dwight, Aqualand's BLTs were just as you said they were--the best ever. Now, sorry to be negative or preachy, but I need to say this to those who deliberately try to ruin the pavilion by leaving a mess or destruction: No matter what your feelings are about Uline, vandalism is not the answer. Many others appreciate the investment and thought that has gone into the improvements in Manitowish Waters, maintaining its character and improving its long-term economic stability. If you don't agree, do something constructive to help the community and form a balanced vision, not something destructive and juvenile. And, to put these comments in perspective, my wife's family has a multi-generational, almost century-long connection to the Manitowish Waters area, and we understand the need to preserve its history and treasure. To preserve that history and treasure, we have to respect it, respect each other, and work together to ensure the long-term economic viability of the area, including attracting younger generations and letting them experience the natural beauty and culture of the area. Let's all work constructively, and not destructively, to create and achieve a vision that will preserve and enhance this treasure for all of us to use and experience.
