River Hill Wine and Spirits is a family owned, farm based winery and distillery located along the Shenandoah River in Luray, Page county, Virginia. We pride ourselves in small batch high quality Wines and Whiskeys. We also have a full selection of farm raised beef and pork products as well as farm fresh eggs available for sale at the distillery building
We showed up 15 minutes before the published opening. The owner took us inside and gave us a tour and tasting immediately. The owner was very talented, personable and colorful person. He gave a very informative, informal, friendly tour and tasting. They have a lot going on here. There is the whiskey distilling, the winery, and the farm. River Hill also sells its own beef. It is a true family operation. This was a great, relaxing tour. Highly recommended.

At the beginning of the trail is a box containing a booklet with points of interest along the hike. I thought that the information enhanced the hike with some history (like the copper mine along the trail) and nature notes. And yes, the views at the summit are spectacular!

This is a lovely, easy and picturesque walking and biking trail that allows locals and visitors to get some exercise in a safe and pretty environment. Mileage markings could be better, but other than that, it's a pleasant area to see wild life and meet nice people.

The largest cave in the Eastern U.S. where visitors can see such bizarre formations like the "Throne Room", "Giant's Hall", and "Fried Eggs".
An incredible site that you can’t see anywhere else! The caverns are an amazing demonstration of natural formations and changes to the earth. It is also a great activity for a cold and rainy weather day as it is underground and always about 55 degrees.

Located at Luray Caverns, this specialty museum features rare antique autos.
I don't know how this collection was assembled, but they have a very nice collection of carriages and cars, displayed chronologically. The cost of the (brief) tour was included in the Luray Caverns pass and the entrance was right next door so it made sense to see it while we were there and I'm glad that I did.

Cooter's Place in Sperryville has moved over the mountain to Luray, VA. "Cooters in the Valley" features a General Lee, Cooter's Tow Truck, Boss Hogg Caddy, Daisy's Diner, Dukes of Hazzard Museum, "Cooter's Garage Band" and appearances from the man himself, Ol' Cooter and much, much more!
This is new to the area and is a tribute to the Dukes of Hazzard television show which this place is owned by Ben Jones and shows up from time to time. Luray zoo does not maintain this sight this is a third party sight for accurate information on hours etc see website
My partner & I love this little privately funded rescue zoo. Great variety of happy, well-fed animals of all species ( reptiles inside, birds, marsupials, monkeys, lemurs, and GOATS! You can feed the goats!) Even a majestic tiger.
I will return to this place every chance I get. Highly recommend this for everyone.

This attraction is included in the price of Luray Caverns. Found it to be well designed, easy to walk through, and, more importantly, informative. Great displays.
The museum also includes an outdoor area of a restored farming community.
People that work in the museum and museum gift shop were friendly and helpful if you had questions.
Be sure to go if you visit the caverns.

It's paved! It's short! It terminates in a lovely view of the valley!
There are signs along the walkway that highlight the region's geological history (some signs are more helpful than others). It's an easy walk to the end of the path which terminates in large viewing platform overlooking the valley below. It's a nice view and I actually preferred this vantage point over some of the Skyline Drive overlooks in Shenandoah National Park. It's a free and easy way to get a little nature into your day.

I absolutely loved visiting this gallery! It's unique beauty makes you want to stick around all day. In fact, you probably could! They have a cozy sitting area in the back with a giant old chess set incase your feet get tired. I also appreciated that the gallery includes art from all price points and skill levels! And I appreciate a gallery that's more accessible and less intimidating. This is a great place!
