I spent the day in Lexington and this was the first stop! The winery is beautiful, even in the dead of winter. Had lunch at the Bistro then, the wine tasting.
I agree with other reviewers, it is a little confusing! You enter a magnificent structure and then wander around on your own. A greeter would be nice or the gift shop employees need to step up their game and explain that the wine tasting is in the same space if you are interested. They do none of that.
We did enjoy the wine tasting. That was the best part of the visit. Inconvenient to pay first for tasting; then head to the register again if you want to purchase.
Even with an average experience overall, I would like to return in the spring, grounds look to be stunning. Very much enjoyed spending time in town.

My boyfriend took me to this winery as part of my present and we had a great tasting of the sweet wines. I was surprised at how many of the wines I loved since I normally only like a few from most tastings! This made deciding which one to get difficult so we got about 6-8 bottles!
I think my favorite was the placid peach and strawberry. We wandered around the vineyard afterwards. Staff were friendly.
I was disappointed that the price per bottle is the same at the vineyard as In most local grocery stores but wether buying from vineyard or store you'll love their wines if you lean towards sweet whites or rieslings.

Beautiful furniture and paintings. Great customer service - thanks, Lynn Klopp for all you help! Conveniently located just off of I-85. More like a museum than a shop; love it!Thanks Sherry, we're so glad you enjoyed your visit. Hope to see you again!

High Rock Lake has such an interesting history. Would love to see pictures of what area looked like before it was flooded to make the lake. Miles and miles of shoreline, some absolutely beautiful homes and hundreds or quiet peaceful coves to fish in. Great for a day on the lake

My husband and I visited this Winery last year with two other couples and had a wonderful time. We decided to go back this year on Memorial Day weekend with some other friends would have never been to North Carolina wineries. We told them what an enjoyable experience it was for us and that they would enjoy it as well as sample some very good wines. Our experience this year was totally different. The owner was extremely unfriendly. I tried over and over again to engage him and he just looked tired hot and miserable. He would not engage at all even though I told him that we had been there the previous year and had had a lovely visit and really enjoyed his wines. He had a young man also working for him who looked at us and asked us flat out if we are going to buy anything after the tasting after my husband asked to resample one of the wines. I assured him that we were both buying a bottle of wine which we did. I was so embarrassed in front of our friends. Because of the unfriendliness of the owner I would not return but I must say that Ellen who also waited on us both times we were there is always very sweet. However the owners attitude ruined the whole experience for us and our friends.

5 miles north of Lexington, NC - tucked inside the I-85 rest stop, is quite a nice memorial to the soldiers who fought for our nation in Vietnam. The brick structure isn't overly large, but it is impressive. It honors the over 1600 soldiers who died or are missing form the war.
My family was surprised at how nice this memorial is, and how important it is. We recommend stopping to see it.

Artisan Winery located in the Yadkin Valley AVA. Handcrafted Olde World Style wines that are clean, crisp and flavorful.
Went for a tasting with friends from out of town. Unfortunately, Native Vines was out of dry reds for samples and only had their sweet wines for tasting. I liked their Green Tea Honey wine, but at $18 a bottle, a little too steep in price. The tasting site is at the back of a long driveway. The host was very nice. Definitely will give it another try when they have dry reds available for tasting.

The Davidson County Historical Museum is located in the core of Uptown Lexington's Historic District and is housed inside the Old County Courthouse on the Square. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the 1858 Courthouse is one of the few historic properties in the county available to the public for tours. A 12- month exterior restoration of the Courthouse completed in 2014. The Davidson County Historical Museum maintains a permanent collection highlighting the natural history and culture of Davidson County which is available to the public through regularly scheduled exhibits, special programming and an online collections database.
This Courthouse has been closed for over a year due to remodeling but is almost ready for it's grand re-opening. The second floor is still that of the old courthouse including the old jail cell. I can't wait to see what has been done to the ground floor, the exterior is once again beautiful.
