Explored the historic Abbey with no-one else around. Quite eerie and real sense of history as we wandered in and out of the ruins. Really good panels throughout clearly describing the form and function along with the history over hundreds of years. Seeing the town of Dromahair in the distance we decided to walk down the hill and follow the pathe running beside the river into the village. A complete step back in time and a really pleasant experience, absolutely loved this place.

Took a trip up here while visiting Glencar Waterfall and Glenade Lough. Was well worth a trip and walk about. Stunning scenery. It reminded me a bit of the Grand Canyon but covered in green. I'd recommend and perhaps walking up to the Eagle's Rock as close as possible.

Grand place to visit great lake veiws and interesting place to visit. Posters show refunishment of castle and history. No entry to in doors while covid issues exist. The courtyard is available and on the day we were there toilets were available. They were clean and tidy as was the area surrounding.

The drive through the valley is worth the eye candy with the extraordinary mountains surrounding you, then to arrive at the car park lined with welcoming sheep and a magnificent lake. You feel like you are in a dream. A very short walk and some steps you see the breathtaking waterfall.
