Hancock Springs

Reviewed By P5_Crazy_Train - Austin, United States

Don't tell anyone, but this is probably my favorite place in the whole state of Texas. The free flow pool at Hancock Springs is such a hidden gem that I hesitate to even share my love for it in fear that everyone will find out about it and it'll be ruined by crowds of people. The natural sulphur spring water is a little stinky, but it doesn't even matter. It's nice and cold and refreshing on a hot day, and the spring water feels so amazingly good. I can't get enough of this pool. It's been here for about a hundred years, and I hope it's here for at least that long in the future. If you can't take the smell of sulphur water, then this isn't for you. But if it doesn't bother you, then you'll find no better place to swim in all of Texas.

Texas Legato Winery

Texas Legato Winery is a family owned and operated winery located on FM 1478 southwest of Lampasas. Legato means a gathering together of family or friends. Legato is also a musical term for smooth and connected notes or performance. Please come meet us, join our family of friends, and enjoy our smooth, award-winning wines from Texas grown grapes. Relax in our tasting room or on our patio overlooking the vineyard. The support Texas Legato has received from our family and friends have helped make it a success! We thank each and every one of you!

We have been going to Legato for 11 years, every time we make it back Bill makes us feel like old friends. It helps we are all Aggies! The wines are consistent and good, I have always loved his Petit Syrah and Family Reunion. The boutique wineries are my favorite for their laid back style of tasting and no rush feeling. The porch at Legato is great to sit and enjoy a glass.

This park is just a couple of blocks from the town square yet it has a neighborhood feel to it. In the summer the pool will be busy, and there are some hoops. Most of all there is a big area full of fun sculptures. Great place for a walk.

Such a fun place and every employee we encountered was super sweet and helpful! We will be back! My nephew and I visited as part of our Spring Break mini vacay and we loved it all! The putt putt course was super fun—so fun we had to play it more than once! The bowling alley was state of the art and complete with food and beverage service! The arcade was perfect for a 7 year old—and this 37 year old had fun too! Can’t say enough good things about the facilities, activities, and the staff!
