This icy high-altitude lake is the legendary birthplace of the Inca civilization, and is also believed to hold precious Inca treasure. When Jacques Cousteau explored the lake for treasure, he discovered instead a large, colorful deep-water frog.
The lake is so blue that one will be surprised. We had a cruise trip. Enjoyed the lake Titikaka under which Inca temples are merged . We had nearly 5 h stay on cruise and enjoyed its last bite. It is the most sacred Lake in Latin America which was worshiped by Pre Inca Tiwanaku and Inca people. Life time experience for anyone.

Having done a down hill off Volcan Toco near San Pedro de Atacama which was steep fast and quite hairy, this was a bit more pedestrian, but then the consequences are a little bit more dire if you get it wrong. Just pick a good Bike company that puts safety and professionalism first - so you may pay a bit more - so you can enjoy the day. I went with Gravity in La Paz and they were great. Good fun but still safe with good bikes. And there were a few kids riding down the road but if you ask me - ballsie parents!

This island is a must do. You must be fit as climbing is involved. I would recommend a 1 to 2 night stay or longer if you want to chill. To get to the island you must take a 25 Bob boat ride lasting 1.5hrs. There is a 10bob entrance fee to the island. The return fare was 30bob.The island has many restaurants which serve simple food.

Before leaving Copacabana you have to go up there, the walk is hard but worth the view. You cant forget...you have to leave a stone in the top on one of the status for good luck. Take as many Pictures as you can...this place is for far the best view you will get.

A technical easy mountain over 6000m's, a good climb for beginners. Great for a first big mountain experience with great views of the Cordillera Real and mountains near La Paz. physically demanding, some acclimatization is need before attempting this trip.
Highly recommend German Mountain Guide for trekking tours to Huayna Potosí. I have just returned from a fantastic 3 day trek with our guides German and Super Mario. It was a pleasure to deal with both of them at all times, their guidance during the treks was second to none, the equipment was good, the price was competitive and the food was plentiful. Our group of 3 successfully reached the summit for sunrise and it was an absolutely amazing experience that was definitely enhanced by the service we received from German Mountain Guide.

For the locals it is an efficient public transport system, for visitors it is one of the best ways to discover La Paz from above. You get to see things that you would never be able to see when walking or driving around the city. Great views everywhere. The views from El Alto down to the La Paz city valley is one of a kind and simply breathtaking. Don't miss a Teleferico ride in La Paz.

If you're into sunsets and city views that is the place to be. Very accessible (taxi from centre 10BS, walk 15mins from Plaza del Armas) and offering 360 degree view of La Paz. Worth it!

I always enjoy visiting Valle de la Luna. My in-laws live in San Miguel, so it's an easy trip and wonderful way to spend a couple of hours on a nice day. I also recommend lunch at Hotel Oberland a few kilometers down the road on the way to Mallasa.
