If you are a lover of cartoon “Ikkyusan” or not, it is absolutely worth visiting this temple. It is also a good half day excursion from Kyoto. This is the temple in which famous Ikkyu spent his retired life. And there is also his grave. As he is a son of an emperor, his grave is now under control of the Imperial Household Agency. The garden is beautiful as well. If you are interested in Japanese history of Sengoku Period, you cannot miss the grave of Rokkaku Jyotei.
