I have stopped to take a look sometimes a take pictures.
This is one of the largest cathederals on the East coast, from what I have read about it.
There are nice Italian restaurants and bakeries nearby. This was once a major Italian neighborhood at one time.

This is a museum where you need several hours to really see everything and they close at 4 pm. so plan accordingly. We ran out of time. You can see Edison's workshop, library, stock room along with multiple other things - like the first movie production site, a display of the original phonograph (that still works) and so much more that it is hard to remember it all. We plan to return again when we can go and view his home in nearby Montclair in warm weather - opens in April.

I come here often to take photos of Manhattan and the 9-11 memorial. The park has a nice paved path along the waterfront with great views of Ellis Island and the Statue of liberty. There is also a historic rail station here, which is where you can buy tickets for the Statue of liberty ferry.

It’s a refreshing change from the hustle bustle of Manhattan to the relative calm of Hoboken and the views of the skyline are amazing. Visit in the evening for the illuminated view of Manhattan. Take the PATH train or very speedy ferry service.

The New Jersey Performing Arts Center hall is an acoustic and architectural gem - the perfect place to experience Mozart’s final, moving masterpiece. Conductor Xian Zhang’s infectious enthusiasm animated the musicians. A full chorus - the Montclair State University Singers - made for a riveting, emotional musical journey. Bravo!

Dear Reader,
It isn't often you try something in life that opens up new paths, new ideas, visions & perspectives on life, but at Serene Dreams, with their perfect environment, incredible staff, (James you are a Godsend!), they truly offer you serenity unlike anyone else.
Their attention to detail & the well-being of your body & soul is perfectly taken care of.
I've always wanted to try a flotation tank, the pods at Serene Dreams are something out of Sci Fi, you literally feel like Superman when you look at the pods and when you finally step out of it, you'll feel just as good as Superman. Let me explain, firstly: there are four ways you can float here, it is all really up to you.
You go into this experience with only your own thoughts. You may be a sceptic, you might have listened to Joe Rogan's rave reviews of isolation tanks and sensory deprivation tanks, you might even have been brought up seeing at one point in your life Altered States and always wondered what is it truly all about? Well stop wondering, go try it out, it's incredible, it is nothing short of marvellous and absolutely worth the time and money.
The best part about flotation tanks is that it doesn't matter if you are 18 years old or 118 years old, both benefit in ways you can not imagine until you have tried it. I'm not kidding, I'm not trying to convince you of anything other than giving you the chance to not rob your self of this experience, it doesn't matter if you don't believe me, once you've tried, you will. So let me continue and explain to you how it worked for me.
You go in to you scheduled appointment, the staff with give you a quick guide to how things work in the room, show you the pod and wishes you a great float. You get ready by taking a quick shower, then prepare to float. The tank which in this case is a super futuristic pod, is beautifully lit from the inside, with ambient soft changing colours shifting slowly and in harmony with the ambient music in the background. You put a pair of special earplugs into your ear, then you get into the pod, close the hatch and turn off the light. The music is playing for about 10-15min and you get comfortable with the environment real quick (this was my first float but I tell ya, it all felt like I've always done this, it was so natural). Once the music fades away, it's just you and your thoughts, your body floating above water, soon incapable of feeling where the water ends and where the air begins, the temperature was perfectly adjusted to make you feel completely weightless. The inner astronaut is surfacing and you are about to float away. It takes some time as a first time floater, to truly feel that feeling of complete disconnect from your body as you are constantly thinking about the environment, random thoughts etc, but JUST as you are about to think, I've thought about everything, time to not think, you get to experience serenity, peace and complete quiet. You are far away from the negative radio frequencies of megahertz and gigahertz, cellphones and microwaves, radio waves and ultra waves, you are far far away in a galaxy within your self. Silent, but tranquil, the complete awe of feeling like a feather, floating above water truly makes you feel weightless. You can imagine how amazing it must be to sleep in space once you've tried this.
Once the music starts to gently and softly return, that is your cue to get ready and rejoin the noise outside. The music plays for about 10min to get you back, then you take a quick shower and you walk out of there with a smile and a huge appreciation for what a mere 60min float can do for your mind and body. The entire day was great, my skin felt softer, my mood more mellow, and I slept like a baby that night. The entire next day I felt great, energised and revitalised in a way I have NEVER had before, it was truly an exceptional feeling. I didn't expect what a big difference it would make even the day after, but it truly left me with an amazing feeling.
You can buy a 60min float, or 90min or a 120min float. Go with the 60min first to try it out and see how amazing you'll feel that day and even better the next day. Then go back for more. I flew in from across the pond, I went all the way to the US to try out something I've been meaning to for years, I couldn't have had a more amazing experience than the one I had. The staff is remarkably in tune with their work, kind, generous and James the owner is a fantastic person, full of passion and love for what he does, he has found his calling and if only I lived in the US, I'd be his student in a heartbeat. The actually offer an internship program right now, and I really recommend anyone who is interested in flotation and the healing's through it, to join Serene Dreams, I promise you, you'll find happiness and fulfilment in something you never imagined before.
I speak highly of Serene Dreams, it was a dream come true, perfect establishment, beautiful rooms and everything was designed to sooth the souls who walk in there in need for some serenity. James the owner was as mentioned before a man with a passion for this, a vision and mission to share the wonders of floatation therapy, one I hope to soon adopt.
It doesn't matter who you are, how old you are, what you believe in or don't believe in, the facts are simple, your body is biologically the same as the rest of the human species, it is under intense stress even on the days you wouldn't think so, a trip to Serene Dreams will most certainly show you just how much you needed to just disconnect from it all, even if it was just one hour, it lasts. You'll never regret this and you'll most likely speak to your friends about this place. If you are lucky to live right around the corner to Serene Dreams, then you're incredibly lucky, for anyone flying in to visit the US, anywhere in NY, don't rob your self of an experience you'll cherish for a life time and might even make a habit of, go visit them and share the wonders Serene Dreams offers.
Everyone should treat them selves with a visit to Serene Dreams, you'll feel like you just fell in love with something greater than you and all of that is thanks to your mind and body because they are the ones you'll be treating.
It's breathtakingly awesome!
