It is very nice bamboo bridge on Mekong River and it is very nice place to walk across the Mekong from the city Kampong Cham to island Koh Pen and to Koh Pen Beach. It si good time in late afternoon around 4 PM until sunsets and an other can relax at Koh Pen Beach to swim on Mekong. But the bamboo bridge can visit from January to July every year.

Cheung Kok Village

Don’t read the other comments saying it was closed. Of course, they have a shop, but they are all working and are not gonna open it all the Time for the tourist that comes once in a while. Maybe call before if you really want to pass by because the shop is still great! Touring without a guide isn’t really worth it (it’s like any village) But the BEST! Is to book a day tour or 2-day tour on their website ! Aline showed us around, explaining about plant medecine, rice fields, traditions, khmer words, fishing (which we tried), she speaks real good english and is very Nice :) At night, we cooked and dined with the family and slept with them as well (with mosquito-nets) A humbling and very cambodian expérience. We absolutely recommend it!! Plus you help the local community

Beautiful idyllic island off the beaten path. Very friendly and welcoming locals, scenic island full of controversy - poor households next to relatively fancy houses next to exuberant looking temples

Wat Nokor

Reviewed By math1482 - Dordrecht, The Netherlands

On our Tour through Laos and Cambodia we passed through the town of Kompong Chan and made an unexpected visit to this hybrid Hindu/Buddhist temple. In a side street along the main road to Phnom Penh we first saw many buddhist stupa's and then in the middle Hindu/Angkorian remains and inside a beautifully painted buddhist temple. When we passed by we were not the only ones as a shoot was taking place at the ruins, beautifully dressed men and women in wedding garment. As we later saw this temple used the same laterite (vulcanic) stone for protection and sandstone for decoration. The buddhist temple was actually pretty nice decorated and a kind of weird contrast between the colorful inside and the black and white of the previous Angkorian temple surrounding it. It was actually a very nice surprise visit.

Wat Hanchey

Take the stairway to heaven or coach to reach this awesome hilltop 7th Century Hindu Temple Ruins and Buddhist Temple. Views over the Mekong and valley are to die for and well worth the trip. Lucky to see the ceremony of monks, led by performers, collecting alms from the villagers along the tree lined road.

Phnom Srey and Phnom Pros

Reviewed By Au_and_Family - Singapore, Singapore

If there are 1-2 hours to spare on a trip to Kampong Cham, Phnom Srey and Phnom Pros is nice peaceful place to visit. It is a quiet mysterious place of pagodas with mischievous cute monkeys. Feeding the monkeys with bananas would make you the most popular tourist in this sacred place. The place is nice for an hour exploration - besides monkeys there is a huge golden sleeping buddha, a four-face buddha surrounded by little golden figurines and many nice quaint pagodas. It is indeed a quiet gem hidden in Kampong Cham that is worth visiting.
