This is a different Balinese village where live Catholic Balinese. The village was founded in 1926 by migrants from South Bali converting to Catholics under Father Simon Buis, SVD. Now there live around 2.000 people in the prosperous village. Don't miss the handsome Sacred Heart of Jesus Ctaholic Church and Palasari Dam if you happen pass in West Bali region.

At the nearby the Purancak Temple and Perancak river an amazing sight of the small traditional jukung and sampan boats can be seen quietly resting on the river. They were brought to Bali by the Bugis sailors who settled at the end of the 17th century. Their fishing technique requires two Bugis (boats). One of them is equipped with a captain chair raised 10 meters above sea level to locate the fishes. A net attached between the two boats catches them. These colorful Bugis became one of West Bali unique treasures. Amazing to see, a commendation.

This church combines in harmony Balinese and western styles in architecture. Designed by Ida Bagus Tugus (a foremost Balinese architect) and Brother De Vrieze, the church maintain the three courtyard divisions and Balinese bas reliefs and carving decorations but with curved concrete and curved wooden window frames with mozaic colors as in Western churches. The nearby Virgin Mary cave and Via Dolorosa are popular pilgrimage places for Catholics in Indonesia.

It's a shame because the beach view is great, with loads of parking. Maybe some picnic tables under the trees, stalls with food etc. But mostly it's dirty with rubbish (no bins in sight) Nowhere for anyone to sit. Could be a lot better than it is.

Candikesuma has beautiful sunrises and sunsets. The miles and miles solitary black sandy beach with the occasional fishing boats under the shades coconut groves is the main view here. Very relaxing atmosphere where you can walk in the beach side to enjoy the peaceful place. Sadly the garbage in the beach.is still found along the trail.

Pura Gede Perancak or Purancak Temple. This magnificent temple overlooks the river Perancak and is about 8 kilometers west of Rambut Siwi. This is near the district capital Negaga. The place was first visited by the Holy Dang Hyang Nirartha and is well worth to visit. It is a beautiful temple with less visitors. Nearby is a village of the same name, Gede Perancak, which was once an abandoned ruin. Perancak is known for its fishing port where dozens of Bugis, colorful fishing boats (Perancak Boats) are moored. Furthermore you will find a turtle sanctuary and this Balinese temple.
