While this is nowhere in the same class as Hangzhou's famous West Lake, this is pleasant enough for a stroll with numerous free minor attractions along the way (which is a pleasant surprise since China likes to charge admission for all kinds of attractions that should be free like temples and parks.)

View there is very beautiful, very long beach. but there are lots of people and some places are quite crowded. traffic to there is quite terrible, both to and from Xunliao Bay, if they want to attract more people to this hot spot, they have to improve the road situation.

The lake is a very nice walk but there are many serious cyclist there, so I would say that the facilities seem to be mainly designed to provide a rather perfect track for cyclists to encourage a healthy lifestyle in Huizhou.

Some friends and I visited Daya bay recently and I was very impressed with the area. There is a brand new hotel and beach resort, with restaurants and what appears to be continuing development with shopping and residential structures under construction. The town of Daya is a short drive away and the bay at that area is home to much more commercial traffic. The resort area is approximately a 20 minute drive from the town proper.

The building is historic. It is good for taking photos. It is even better at night. However, nothing else. Do not expect too much.
If you walk around West Lake, you can take a few minutes side walk over there or even use a zoom lens to take photos.

If you are not interested in a story of a senior Communist military general, then no need to visit it. This a small museum. Also, the description of back ground all stand for Communist Party. My comment is not so attractive. What I am only interested is the village school and the house of this general in this small village.
