Just couldn't do it . So let me explain, I am afraid of heights and when I got there and realized that the bridge did move and ya it was definitely high I bowed out. My friend went and loved the views. My understanding is that is the longest suspension bridge in Austria. It was a great walk in the forest to get there. Yes it is up hill but the path is paved. Someone traveling with us has back and leg issues and was able to do the walk. You also have the opportunity to go to the Ehrenberg castle ruins which have a wonderful 360 view of your surrounding. Mountains and a village below. We could actually hear Bavarian music playing from the town. Again me and my heights there were a few freaky spots for me . I really enjoyed this stop. We did not do the museum that was also there by the parking area in the valley. For hiking lovers they do have a few trails you can take.

Must do it at least once! I was quite scared initially, but everything passed once I got in the air. The team is super cool and the sensation unforgettable. We also had a great weather and the area very beautiful. ???Many thanks for your trust and your positive review...

Yet another of the eccentric King Ludwig II's magnificently odd architectural creations.
Read a couple of reviews talking about not bothering with the tour but they were so wrong. The inside of this castle is absolutely beautiful and unlike any other castle I've ever seen. The history is also very interesting. We went with gray tours and had a fab day. It took the stress out of having to arrange it all ourselves and our tour guide taught us lots of facts. Would recommend

We were lucky enough to run into a group of teenagers "canyoning" down the river and rocks which greatly added to the interest of this already lovely walk. No special hiking skills needed for those on the path. Just a bit of stamina as it is steep in places.

Cute German village with picturesque pedestrian walkways. Full of souvenir shops, cafes, seasonal dining and cool clothing stores.
During August, it was busy, busy, busy. Enjoyed some escaffe and indulged in homemade apple strudel with ice cream. Clean, safe and charming.
Great spot to mill about leisurely.

We took the Tegelbergbahn cable car up to the top of Mount Tegelerg and really enjoyed our entire experience here.
The cable cars run about every 10 mins during the day - during our visit there were only 2 running, one is going up while the other is coming down.
The panoramic views of the surrounding area is spectacular...you can see the areas lakes, towns, and Castles as well as the nearby Mountains and alps.
Watching the hang gliders prepare and lift off from up there is really fun and we also enjoyed watching them soar around like birds - we counted over 10 in the air at the same time while we were up there.
We hiked the Konigsrunde am Teleberg trail while at the top of the mountain and were rewarded with some incredible views to the back/side of the mountain, looking towards France, Austria, and the Swiss Alps. The hike itself was well marked. It took about 30 minutes each way along a gravel, rocky, and steadily ascending/descending path.
And before taking the cable car down we enjoyed a very nice lunch in the restaurant.
We had a beautiful clear, hot, sunny day during our visit and it was so enjoyable and worthwhile.....you don't want to miss out on this!

We are visiting this slope since 10 years only because of the sled slope. 4km downhill around the mountain. There are also slopes for skiing. They are well prepared and a lot of fun. The lift is ok for this purpose. This year though we noticed that the personnel changed at the lift and they are not so nice as the previous seasons. All in all a place where the whole family can enjoy the slopes either by ski or by sled.

The location is what makes this worthwhile as the view is quite amazing but the castle is really a mere broken shell so you don't get any idea of what it's as like in it's heyday.

This cable car is located on the west side of the lech River just off of Highway 198. Turn at the cable car sign. Watch carefully for the parking lot on your left. You will see the cable car going up the mountain first.
The 6 seat cable car quickly takes you to the top. There are numerous hiking trails with signs marking the length. The trails are wide. Sadly, we only had time for a short hike.
There are spectacular views from the top of the Alps and Alpine meadows. Added to the atmosphere is the clanging of cow bells.
There's a restaurant at the top. The coffee was great, but rather expensive. That's ok when the view is worth a million.
When you stay at an area hotel, you are given an "activ card". We got ours from the pension we stayed at. The Activ card allows you a free ride on the cable car.

Alpseebad (Lake-swimming -area)is the best place in Hohenschwangau to relax and have fun with swimming in the crystal clear Alplake. You can stay to fill your gap before your castle entrance or stay just the whole day. Open from April every day except rain.
We did the swan package today which included both Castles and the museum all were good. You can't miss this lake. We arrived around 8:15 am (left Munich around 6:30am) and got to enjoy the wonderful peaceful morning views before the rush. I didn't notice the blue clear water until high noon. Beautiful lake overall and great for pictures!
