Explore Indiana's first state capital and tour the Federal-style limestone capitol building, built between 1814 and 1816. This location is part of the Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites, a statewide museum system with 12 locations.
Our 12 year old did not enjoy but my husband and I did. The tour included the first state capital and the governor's mansion (for the times). Our guide was good. You can also visit on your own other historical sites around town. Great little day trip. Lots of restaurants to eat at and cute ssd's specialty stores. We hope to go back sometime.

Squire Boone Caverns is a natural wonder attraction that provides guests a respite from their plugged-in, technology heavy lives. Squire Boone, American pioneer and legend, discovered the caverns in 1790 and soon built a thriving settlement centered around Boone's Mill, which is still operating today. Rich in history and geological wonders, guests to the Caverns will leave with plans to visit again and again. Along with the cave tour and Historic Boone's Mill, activities at the Caverns include: Indiana's Largest Rock Shop and Gem-Mining Sluice, the Soap Shop, Hannah Boone's Candle Shop, homemade sweets and savory lunch options at the kitchen and a nature trail to simply take some time out. For the adventurous, make a reservation for the Squire Boone Caverns Zipline Adventure. The tree-top canopy course is family-friendly (a smaller zipline course is available for those who may not meet the height requirements). The complete tour through the beautiful grounds at Squire Boone Caverns includes 6 canopy zip lines and a swinging suspension bridge. Squire Boone Caverns Zipline Adventures is ACCT (Association for Challenge Course Technology) certified for installation, maintenance and operation, so you can feel secure and concentrate on having fun!
Lovely park...friendly and informative staff...active candle making and soap making cabins...stone /rock cabin...small cafe, reasonably priced and very good...nice gift shop, petting and feeding of small farm animals loved it...we had a great tour guide thru the caverns...she was very informative...answered all our questions...the caverns had easy walking paths, their were some stairs at beginning and end but wasn’t terrible if took it at moderate pace...the falls and formations were spectacular and was neat to be able to pay our respects at Squires actual burial place...loved the caverns...also had a working water mill..enjoyed this out of the way place

World-class gaming complex features 140 gaming tables and more than 2,500 slot machines.
This review is mostly my answer to the bad reviews posted from people who thought you were gonna win every time you enter a casino.....spoiler alert, YOU DON'T. That being said, The hotel is very nice and I have found it be always be very clean. The front desk staff is knowledgeable and friendly. It is a bit of a walk to the casino but the indoor shuttle runs non-stop. I personally have never waited more than 5 minutes. This service is free and cuts your walk to just a handful of steps. The casino offers many of the newer games and all the table games you would expect. I go about 6 times a year and I lose some and win some. Just like every casino I visit. Btw...get a player rewards card. The comps are better than any local area casino. I am hardly a high-roller and I have NEVER paid for a weeknight room. The free slotplay comps are great as well. I'm gonna post a recent picture of a win because who takes pictures of losing. Lol :)

Been following the exploits of prolific John Hunt Morgan for years. The Battle of Corydon was one of a handful of recognized Civil War battles in the North, so this memorial should be preserved and not sanitized by the PC crowd. (One of the others Buffington Island, was Morgan's Raiders' last real battle engagement effort later that summer in 1863.) Thankfully, The original state capital building nearby has been preserved and it gives some more historical context as it how close the Confederacy came into the North's backyard looking for Copperhead anti-war sympathizers and looting.
