Hathersage outdoor heated swimming pool is set in a lawned enclosure with a covered veranda to one side. During the summer months, It offers the opportunity to swim in the open air, amidst the glorious Peak District scenery, in water which is heated to 28°C
It was always going to be fantastic to get back in the water after over 5 months of no swimming and I travelled an hour and a half to get here - it was fabulous. The pool is spotless and the water is warm, pre booking is essential and lane swimming must be booked by speed ( think I kept up in the middle lane!) The setting for the pool is spectacular, there were 4 circling buzzards overhead when I was waiting to get in - where else can you say that will happen? Just wish the pool was a lot closer to home or I would be here every week.....

The David Mellor Cutlery Factory, Design Museum, Country Shop and Cafe - all on the same site. Just outside Hathersage in one of the most beautiful areas of Derbyshire, they provide a uniquely stimulating and enjoyable day out in the Peak District National Park.
This is a must if you like good design. David Mellor was a genius designer and some of his innovative work is on display here, excellent shop and museum to browse around. Recommended

We stopped here and enjoyed a hearty plate of chilli nachos loaded in quality beef chili (veggie version available). Prices were good and there's undercover heated seating area for the showers. Really tasty food and not silly prices.

hidden away on a steep hill, you can drive up to the church, the grave is signposted so easy to find, its basically opposite the main door of the church. a small car park is 2 mins walk from the actual grave . ideal place to visit if you are in the area .

I can thoroughly recommend this pub for the food. I had a fish pie and it was just lovely. I went with 3 other people and we all enjoyed our meals.
