Have you read George Orwell's essay about The Moon Under Water, a fictitious perfect pub. If it wasn't based on The Globe, it should have been. I drink their Strongarm, brewed locally, cellared brilliantly and served slightly chilled with a 2 inch head, nectar. Always a welcome, roaring real fires and traditional decor make it feel like pubs used to do, regulars and occasionals are greeted with equal warmth. You'll go a long, long way to find a better proper local.

Imagination Village is a stimulating role play area in which young children can explore, play and learn whilst having fun. The village scene includes a number of different buildings for children to enter and let their imagination take hold. One moment they can be fire fighters and then the next they can pop next door into the cafe and make tea for their friends.
Absolutely love this place, I've had my daughters 3rd birthday party here and also attended today for Christmas eve session. All staff make christmas come alive and make so much effort to make sure the children have lots of fun. Staff go above and beyond and make so much effort to ensure the children are having a great time. I cant recommend this place enough, thank you for making today and all other trips a great experience for my child and all others. Wow! Just wow!

Launched in 1817, HMS Trincomalee is the oldest warship afloat in Europe.
A really interesting and enjoyable place to visit. Although it was a cold blustery February day the welcome was warm and the guided tour round the ship was full of interesting facts and stories. Superb atmospheric cafe and lots of old fashioned quayside workshops. Would be a good day out for children too.
