Top 10 Things to do in Harbourfront, Canada

April 19, 2022 Margarita Chappel

We've heard Toronto described as "New York City run by the Swiss," and it's true—you can find world-class theater, shopping and restaurants here, but the sidewalks are clean and the people are friendly. The best place to start is literally at the top—the CN Tower, the tallest freestanding structure in the Western Hemisphere.

What a wonderful experience of zooming across the Harbour Bay, puttering along shady silent canals and drifting while photographing swans and cygnets being trained by their parents to swim and eat seaweed. Thank you to Captain Mario for making the trip so memorable with the comfortable seating, romantic music, soft breezes and forgetting all about our recent Covid life.

Buzz Tours

When in Toronto, take some time to experience all that this great city has to offer. Let the great guides at Buzz Tours show you show you around the city, on one of our many 2-3 hour guided tours. Our walking tours are limited to a maximum of 8 guests per tour, so that we engage in conversation with our guests rather than have them following a flag and 100 other people through the city streets. We will show you the sights and tell you the many stories that make Toronto one of the world's great cities. Our guests generally comment that a Buzz Tour is like a city walk with a friend. If group tours are not your thing, that's not a problem. Try one of our Private Walking Tours. Select a tour that we offer and make it your own (and include 7 of your guests if you'd like). Whatever tour or type of tour you choose, we are certain, you will enjoy your time seeing the city.

This is a great place to spend time....the options are endless. Terrific cycle and or jogging/walking trail that goes for many kilometers along the lake (and links to many streets and cycle paths going north into the core). It has harbourfront centre with art and entertainment spaces, right next to the Queens Quay indoor mall riddled with shopping and dining, and the Power Plant art gallery. Lots of good spots along the waterfront to take the sun too. There are stretches of grass to sprawl out on, muskoka chairs to take the sun, and the odd picnic bench for a bite or a card game. This is a happening, lively part of a vibrant city. Rent a canoe! Rent a paddleboard, go for a cycle.....take a walk, then have a bite to eat. Enjoy!

Toronto Islands Ferries

Reviewed By AwayTooMuch

We have done the Toronto Island ferry quite a few times and we always have a great time. It's amazing how you feel as though you are really getting out of the city. You don't experience any city noise (other than the planes flying over from Billy Bishop Airport) and it is so peaceful. This time, we got a ferry over to Central Island, walked the few kilometres over to Hanlan's Point and got the ferry back from there and it was nice to see other areas of the island; next time, we would like to walk right across. It's a fantastic location in the summer for picnics and swimming, as well as picturesque photo opportunities of the scenery and the best views of the city and skyline you will ever get. The ferry is great value as well and I would recommend this trip to anyone - don't come to Toronto without seeing the Islands!
