This was one of our activities for Parents Weekend at Michigan Tech. What a great experience. Our guide was very knowledgeable and passionate about the place. I loved learning the history of the area and of mining. After being down in the mine, it is just unfathomable to me how advanced they were with the technology that was available at the time. Great learning experience.

Spent two hours going through the museum. Most interesting to see all of the minerals...most we had never heard of before.

I recently had a 1 hour treatment at the Verona Day Spa.
What a treat! The staff where superb and treated me like royalty.
The treatment was well priced but so luxurious and wonderful that I felt like staying for the rest of the day.
It is not often that you find such a gem that is both affordable and feels decadent at the same time!

This part at the top of the UP in Michigan is beautiful! Quiet campsites with all a view of the Great Lake. I was late in making my reservation and still could see the Lake from my site. paved walkways make it great for walking and little ones riding their bikes. Some camp sites are closer together so opt for the more expensive and get a bigger slightly apart site. This is great for families and their pets! Pet friendly beach

Where video games become reality. Respawn Tactical Laser Tag takes laser tag to the next level. With 10 different multiplayer modes, it's team versus team in competitive, engaging game play that's sure to provide fun for the whole family.
My 9 year old said he wished he could do it 1000 more times. Owner and staff are great. They explained everything very well and made sure everyone was having fun.

A challenging and scenic bike trail leading to Copper Harbor.
Loved the views of the lake, the coves and little parks, the pebbly beach in Eagle River, the waterfalls. Stop by the Jam Pot and get some monk-cooked breads and cupcakes. A very popular spot! Most importantly, take the Brockway Mountain Drive for a breathtaking view of the entire area - but not for those who suffer from a fear of heights! Copper Harbor was not very exciting -some gift shops selling lots of t-shirts and ice cream places.

This is a very large system of trails running through and around Michigan Tech University in Houghton, Michigan. The trails are extremely well-maintained and beautiful. It's quiet and lovely. There's a stream/river running through the area, and you can walk right down to it and wade in areas where it's slower. Some of the vistas are simply breath-taking. There's also a sledding hill which would be great in the winter, as well as areas wide and clear enough to picnic on and play frisbee with your friends. We'll absolutely be using these trails again, perhaps from a different entrance (there are numerous entrances) and look forward to watching the seasons change. There's no charge to either park or hike, which is great for college students on a budget.
The only reason this system of trails did not get 5 stars was because the trail markers can be confusing. While they are delineated well on the maps, once you are out and about, it's not always clear which path to take. If you have time, this is a great way to see the area and get in an hour of hiking. If you're watching your time, the trails need better color-coding or number-coding.

The food here is typical bar and grill fare. The portions are really big. We had a great time at the bowling alley and the staff was fun and accommodating.

There are tours available to see this historical smelter. We just went and saw the abandoned CNW steam locomotive. I'm sure it would be a pretty cool to tour.

A small town book store with WIFI, coffee, ice cream surrounded by a wonderful selection of used and new books. I found more then i could believe as I browsed. Eating ice cream. Relaxed atmosphere with a number of places to sit, read or chat. Thank you!
