Tpited thru the Singer castle. Enjoyed the wood furniture and marble within. Loved the secret passageways and large room for the female help. Beautiful area between the U.S. and Canada in the St Lawrence River.

Capt. Jack's Charters

We are a Dive and Custom charter business located in the 1000 Islands on the St. Lawrence River at Blind Bay Marina 16 mile NE of Alexandria Bay, NY. To tell you a little about myself first let me say that I am the owner/operator and a PADI Assistant Scuba Instructor. I also have 33 years experience as a New York State Emergency Medical Technician and that I have oxygen and first aid equipment onboard at all times. I have been doing charters on the River since 2004 where I started in Brockville, Ontario. Then in 2007 i came to Blind Bay on the U.S. side just 16 miles NE of Alexandria Bay in the Thousand Islands. My boat "The Regulator" is 34ft overall and I carry icewater onboard at all times. I also have snacks onboard for all during our surface intervalls. The boat has a head onboard and there is a 12 CD changer to play the music of your choice. You have you choice of being in the sun or out of the rain with my canvas work too. A majority of our business is involved in operating Scubadiving charters to a number of shipwrecks on the St.Lawrance River. The wreck of the Keystorm, The America, The A.E. Vickery and the Maggy L. which is our newest addition. Aside from operating scubadiving charters we also do shuttles to Singer Castle that is a mere ten minutes from our dock. I have been involved in 24 weddings at the Castle in the last 4 years. This is a wonderful place to visit and learn a little about our history too. I will do privat shuttles or party's and I also am available for 4th of July fireworks charters to Bolt Castle. Just contact me and I would be more than happy to help you set up a shuttle or party or a dive. Hours are flexible too.

We used Captain Jack's Charters to dive the Keystorm and American wrecks. Captain Jack was super-knowledgeable about the area. He also had an amazing sense of humor and professionalism dealing with 11 career firefighters. He worked with our dive instructor to accomplish our missions. We will definitely use him again if we return.

Heart Island is beautiful, as is Boldt Castle. The grounds are magnificent and well maintained. The castle has had so much work since our 1st visit 30 years ago. We thoroughly enjoyed our time spent here.

Drove the travel trailer for an overnight stay-cation. Stayed at site106. Was so happy that it wasn't one of those overcrowded campsites that looks like a parking lot. The area was well maintained, quiet, plenty of room on each lot. Also the bath house was clean as was the playground. Helpful friendly staff. Can't wait to go again.

My wife and I learned more from this young lady than all other winery visits combined. While there she received a call that a bus was coming. Most hourly employees would have been bummed out. She was visibly excited that she could share her knowledge...MoreThanks for the compliment- it was a pleasure having you visit, please come again!

Bella-Brooke Vineyard

Reviewed By BenGruda - Potsdam, New York

I did not visit the winery, but we went to a tasting in Clayton, NY at their annual Food and Wine Festival. I make my own wines and my wife and I are avid wine drinkers and wine aficionados. I tasted their wines which were mediocre at best, but I did like the Brianna, so a bought a couple of bottles.

Anxious to serve it to friends I opened the bottle and was embarrassed by the color and taste. Bait & switch? Bad batch? Perhaps since there is no vintage year on the bottle I suspect it is old and has seen its day. IT WAS NOT WHAT THEY SERVED US AT THE TASTING! This has happened to me with some wineries in VT and ME, and you think I would learn not to buy an unknown vintage from an unfamiliar winery. This time I think I learned my lesson! I hope this is not the case and those of you that visited the winery, but I will never recommend their products to anyone!

historical museum with many local artifacts & large display of model buildings & scenes by R.T. Elethorp. Also, a fully furnished 1800's Scottish stone house, barn, carriage shed & blacksmith shop. Summer hours: Wed. 2-7 PM (with farmers' market & entertainment) and Sat. 10 AM - 4 PM.

Reviewed By Elayne L - Paramus, New Jersey

Located in an old stone home this museum is a collection of local artifacts and photos. There is a wonderful black smith exhibit outside in a separate building. During the summer they have a weekly farmers market with real farmers selling their wares. I really enjoy a visit here and have returned for a few events last summer. The local honey for sale is excellent and the perennial plants are a bargain. The vegetables, herbs and fruits are VERY fresh often picked the morning of market day. This is a nice way to learn about the area.
