Har-Ber Village

HAR-BER VILLAGE MUSEUM is a seasonal (third Saturday in March thru first Saturday in November) pioneer-era village and history museum located on the shores of Grand Lake o' the Cherokees in Oklahoma. Visitors experience the area's history and ecology through self-guided tours. Antiques, collectibles and reproductions are displayed in exhibitions representing the mid-1800s to the early 1900s in the local four-state region (Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri and Kansas). Several of the Village's HISTORIC BUILDINGS were relocated to the grounds, including a schoolhouse, jail and 16 log cabins. Other log structures were built to house collections and are typical for the mid-to-late 1800s-a courthouse, a bank, a stagecoach inn and a church built with bricks hand-made before the Civil War. Other replicated buildings include a mercantile, jail and hanging gallows, a doctor's and a dentist's office, print shop, post office, drug store and more. We also have Nature Trails!

Only $10 to see over 100 authentic displays in over 100 buildings (mostly authentic log cabins) to share American history with future generations. Stumbled on this gem by accident. Would recommend to all ages. The founders were very forward thinkers to preserve all of this history in such a beautiful rustic atmosphere (and its on the lake). What an incredible surprise for a wonderful afternoon!

Lendonwood Gardens

Reviewed By okhmbldr - Oklahoma City, United States

My wife and I found this beautiful garden by accident. At the hotel I found a magazine with the Lendonwood Gardens info and address. It wasn't too far from our hotel so we went to have a look. It's a self guided tour with the help of a guide page that explains each exhibit. At the entry gate you pick up your guide sheet, self (honor) pay and begin your tour. The entry area really isn't too attractive, but when you get a few hundred feet into the Garden, it becomes very impressive. We loved the entire eight acres. A very restful place of beauty.

The park was absolutely beautiful. Lots of trees and shade, good walking trails, level RV pads and the camp host - Jerry - was so very nice!
