Top 10 Things to do in Greenwich, Connecticut (CT)

October 8, 2021 Nobuko Falco

Sitting along the Long Island Sound, the quiet community of Greenwich, Connecticut is just a short commuter line ride from Wall Street, making Greenwich a popular home for wealthy Manhattanites. Composed of seven small hamlets, the historic homes and beautifully manicured gardens of Greenwich have made it a popular film location for movies about small town America. Pack a picnic and head to the Greenwich Point peninsula, a favorite beach spot with views of the Manhattan skyline.

Kids love Fellowship- the hour AFTER church service ends for its “heavenly” donuts; adults enjoy the “Academy” hour shortly after service for a weekly lecture on a number of different topics; families love Wednesday nights at FPC for Bible study and stories and a communal dinner... I love going to this church, for the people who call it their second home and the warm welcome one receives as they walk in the door each Sunday. Led by two ordained ministers with young families of their own, Sean Miller and Andre Castillo, go out of their way to open their hearts and share their love of faith and God. Come one Sunday! I’ll bet you’ll come again! - Bonnie in Connecticut!

As always, Bill Herz was the consummate host as he introduced another highly entertaining and soon to be famous young magician. Top billing for the evening was Alex Boyce, ‘Magic of a Millenial’. This performance was unique and amazing! We were drawn in to a raw, up close encounter, mysterious and convincing, a setting where only the best in this art form can be convincing. Gasping and incredulous - we did not want the manic to end - encore !!

Last year when I visited them in 2019, they were located on Greenwich Ave. They recently moved to 55 Lewis Street. I happened to be there once again to checkout the new space and inventory. They did a great job with the new showroom. There is now more inventory and you feel like you are in a private-appointment-only boutique, a very special place.

We have visited the Bruce Museum Numerous times over the last few years. When we heard that they had reopened, we decided to plan our visit. As a result of the Pandemic of 2020, you must reserve in advance by going to their website And picking a specific tine you’d like to arrive. They are limiting the number of guests to twenty five people per time slot. The Bruce Museum is small however they had three very interesting exhibits. They are in the process of planning and building an entirely new and much larger museum on their property. There are many reasons to plan a visit. They are located in a beautiful part of Greenwich and you’ll want to allow time to stroll to the water as well as to walk on Greenwich Avenue. The museum staff is made up of people who live their jobs and more importantly, the Bruce Museum’s organization values them too. During the months that the museum was closed, they didn’t furlough any of their staff. Not even their security guards. Everyone was kept on and received their full salaries. When I heard this from one of the security guards, I decided that we had to become members to support this wonderful institution!

Greenwich Ave was so much fun to walk. I was surprised by the number and variety of shops on the Ave. Had a great time exploring and even did a little damage. Walking distance (2 blocks) from the Delamar Hotel. Made for a perfect afternoon!
