This was one of the best free museums we've been to visit. The layout was nice and the staff were knowledgeable and helpful. We enjoyed the pieces of local history that made the displays so much more interesting and authentic. The temporary display was interactive and had kids engaged as we went through. The Vicks and O'Henry connections to this area was really neat to see and learn about. We really enjoyed this surprise visit to a great piece of history.

Wonderful little nature preserve in the middle of town, easily accessible with wide walkways. There is a beautiful little water fall, a fallen tree, owl nest and so much more! International Civil Rights Center & Museum

The International Civil Rights Center & Museum (ICRCM), located in Greensboro, N.C., is an archival center, collecting museum and teaching facility devoted to the international struggle for civil and human rights. This national landmark and national site of conscience celebrates the nonviolent protests of the 1960 Greensboro sit-ins that served as a catalyst in the civil rights movement. Our vision is to memorialize the courageous stand of the Greensboro Four as they launched, for posterity, the sit-in movement Feb. 1, 1960. We hope that the ICRCM, with its focus on the sit-in activities at the F.W. Woolworth lunch counter in Greensboro in 1960, will inspire the vigilance and fortify the spirit of all oppressed people to step forward in the ongoing struggle for human freedom.

What an amazing experience. I saw another review mentioning tour guide Gloria...she was our guide as well, and she did a fantastic job. She's engaging, patient and knowledgeable but what really impressed me was her passion for the subject, which really made her words come alive and got us passionate on the subject of civil rights as well. Gloria also was great at making personal connections with individual members of the tour; several had their own stories to tell about relatives who'd lived in the deep South during Jim Crow or tales about their own experiences with discrimination, and she listened with empathy to them all. I was there with a family member and a friend, both of whom have lived in Greensboro for a while but had never been to the Civil Rights museum...they were extremely glad I, an out of towner, wanted to go. We all learned quite a bit, even on subjects we thought we learned all there was to know. I cannot recommend this museum enough.

The gardens are adjacent to the Bog Garden which made for a peaceful 3-4 mile walk through the sculptures, the Serenity Bridge and waterfall; children’s memorial etc. I didn’t know I was in the city. Congratulations to the city & private donors who make this nature area possible.

Greensboro Coliseum Complex

Reviewed By agatia12 - Virginia Beach, United States

We went to go see the Kenny Chesney concert. And I am not a country fan. This is a Christmas gift to my wife and I was skeptical to go to Greensboro. However this place was incredible. I used to produce concerts for a living so I know a thing or two about the venues, access, crowd control, etc. The whole experience was so unbelievably smooth: decent drop off for the venue, excellent communication with local police, multiple entrances which allowed for no crowds. People were friendly, security was nice, our seats were fantastic, and everyone seemed to be having a great time. Even after the concert, with multiple entrances and exits, it didn’t seem like we had to stay there for hours waiting for the crowd to dissipate. I will add Greensboro as a destination to see any concert with anyone. And I live in Virginia Beach. It was worth the four hour trip and I would do it again and again.
