Excellent service, they are always on time and the cars are very comfortable. We have used them several times to drop off at the airport so punctuality is a must.

Once an ordinary house in an ordinary street, Talliston has been transformed into "Britain's Most Extraordinary Home" (The Times). Behind an arched oak door set in a thicket hedge lies Talliston House & Gardens. This once ordinary house hides a magical labyrinth of rooms, each set in a different time and place. Twenty-five years in the making, the project has taken the most ordinary of English dwellings – a three-bedroomed, semi-detached, ex-council house in Essex – and painstakingly transformed it into a wonderland of inspirational locations where time truly has no power. The finished house and gardens comprises thirteen stunning locations. Each room is infused with a rich story, incorporating almost 2,000 objects sourced from 27 countries around the world – and set in a labyrinth design where guests get to leave behind the outside world and walk between the walls of reality.
Visited this fantastic house yesterday with 3 friends. Our visit - originally due in April was postponed for obvious reasons! What a house ! Greeted by owner John at the fabulous Gothic style gate at the front we were transported into a fantasy world. John is so passionate about his home and with every reason. A real labour of love and so much detail in each room . His stories about how each room was created by his travels around the world are fascinating. You are transported to different parts of the world and each in a different time zone. We were blown away every time we entered another room including the courtyard garden. At the end of the tour we were served an afternoon tea of sandwiches and scones on bone china crockery in the candlelit Watchtower. We spent time drinking tea ( from a proper teapot !) and reflecting on our visit. Made to feel so welcome and it was so comfortable we didn’t want to leave ! but leave we did, until the next time. Treat yourself- you won’t regret it. Overnight stays are also available through Air B & B.

My boyfriend surprised me with a spa day for our anniversary, it was amazing, the whole place was so relaxing and inviting. And the Prosecco was a lovely touch whilst in the hot tub, we had lovely massages which I actually managed to fall asleep in, and then chilled in the relaxation room to finish our afternoon We will certainly be back

Thaxted is an amazing Village nestled on the heart of Essex and well worth the visit for lovers of history and also ramblers. It was given its towns charter in approx. 1066 The Guild hall was built around the 15th century and it was the home of Dock Turpin a highway of ill repute. The house that he reported live is on the main street. The parish is more like a cathedral and sits at the top of the village. There is also a restored win Mill a short walk from the church, which is wonderfully restored and we'll worth a visit. For the rambles, there are a lot of walking paths in the area that are quite easy and offer delightful views of the area. This village us well worth a visit of a few hours or more.

The Gardens of Easton Lodge is an idyllic (Historic England, Grade II) listed haven which has been partially restored to its former glory by a team of dedicated volunteers and the owners of Warwick House. These historic gardens date back over 400 years. Their most renowned owner was the Countess of Warwick, mistress of the Prince of Wales before he acceded to the throne as Edward VII. The Countess commissioned leading designer Harold Peto to create stunning formal gardens and a treehouse for her, in 1902. Abandoned in 1950 after the demolition of the house, the gardens were then forgotten. Today the 23 acres of gardens have a magical atmosphere, as the splendour of a century ago is gently revealed through restoration, allowing the visitor to imagine their past glories and enjoy their tranquil present. The Gardens are open to the public on the following Sundays in 2018: 22 April, 20 May, 24 June, 22 July, 19 August, 16 September, 14 October. Please check our website for more details.
I took my Niece and Family for a sanctioned private trip round the gardens, A Place to enjoy the stunning views, to walk or just sit and relax for all the family. The Seasons are all different in the gardens, The Italian and Walled Gardens are superbly kept by volunteers who put in tireless hours for the enjoyment of the visitors on scheduled Open days. Obviously the virus has meant the gardens have been closed.... BUT all being well, I gather will re-open on 19th July. So why not pop along and enjoy the experience and Scenery. Have a look at their web site for current information.

A very special venue and highly recommend a visit. My first experience was afternoon tea for a friends birthday and then several years later a family wedding. The building has many architectural features, which adds to a special ambiance to any function. The history and artefacts when the Maltings was a thrieving place of work, employing many people within, the then village of Great Dunmow and surrounding areas.
