This is certainly one of the best small city parks in the country. They have a new (one year) community center with lots of organized activities like bridge clubs, quilting, yoga, etc. There are pool and ping pong tables for inside play plus shuffleboard, volleyball, basketball (under roof) and bocce outside. There is a small lake for catch and release fishing with a paved ~ one mile walking/running/cycling trail around the lake. Also included is an extensive kids play area and water fountain play circle. It is all free, even to island visitors. You only have to surrender and ID to borrow equipment. The landscape is flat and not that great but there are nice shaded benches and tables. It is a splendid place to get away fro of the heavy tourist crowds. During the winter season there are free music concerts every Sunday afternoon. It is a perfect family spot.

Parking can be tight. Nice turnout for typical farmers market fares, jewelry, trinkets, baked goods, and other eclectic vendors. Even a one man band. Worth the visit to people watch.

Long famous for its Key Marco Cat- one of the most remarkable and influential discoveries in North American archaeology- the new Marco Island Historical Museum explores Southwest Florida's Calusa Indians and bring this vanished civilization to life with informative displays and an exciting recreated village scene. Temporary and traveling exhibits trace the settlement of this subtropical island paradise from its early pioneer roots as a fishing village, pineapple plantation and clam cannery, through its explosive growth and development in the 1960s by the Miami-based Deltona Corporation.
Small but well laid out with a surprising nice little gift shop. Entrance is free but they appreciate donations. Great coverage of the last 150 Years or so. Plenty of parking.

Cleanest boats with the friendliest staff. Rent a pontoon for a half day or a full day. Interested in Kayaking? We have Single and Double kayaks to rent along with Stand Up Paddle Boards. After enjoying some time on the water, stop by the Island Gypsy for some food and drinks. You will not regret your experience here at Isles of Capri Marina!
This was our favorite lunch spot, nice and sunny in the deck or you have the choice of a covered area. Meal was wonderful,,,,we had a nice variety and shared. Grouper special was spectacular.....they make a mean margarita....would have had another but was early in the day while there..lots on the menu to choose from..

One of the two top public access points to Marco Beach. It has great shelling.
The beach is beautiful and close in proximity to restaurants and beach rental equipment. Great place to visit whether your there to swim sunbath or walk the sea shore picking up some unique shells. It’s a shame that Marco didn’t save more land from developers to have more adequate public parking for elderly and the disabled. Unfortunately you have to be a owner to park in there town lot. They could use some maintenance on the beach access. Broken water lines are preventing the outside shower rinse station from functioning.

Rent jetskis on the beach and take the guided tour. You will definitely see the Cape Romano ruins and run into some playful dolphins. well worth the cost of the jetski

Please know that the walkway that people use to access the floating dock to board their own boat was severly damaged and will not likely be repaired for months; meaning probably Feb. 2018. This was told to me today by a representative of Collier County in charge of Goodland Boat Park.
The result: yoi have to use a ladder on the walkway to the right of the launch area, or climb through railings on the left side. Since it was near low tide when we launched, my right foot was literally higher than my head when my left foot was already on the lower floating dock....and I will be 80, yes 80 on my next birthday. On returning I exited via the ladder and my buddy drove my pontoon boat onto the trailer as I positioned the trailer. I will use the Caxambas launch area next to see if it is better.
Aside from the the above, the park has been cleaned of debris from the storm and the restroom was open and clean. I did not check the store or try to buy bait there.
If you only want a spot to relax and bring chairs and maybe take-out food from a nearby restaurant then go and enjoy an underused resource. You can fish from the right walkway... saltwater license required.
A really nice place to visit.

Rented a 21' Ebbtide Deck Boat for a full day. Boat was clean and ran well. Cost was $385 for the full day plus tax and fuel. The website listed that the boat had a stereo and a Hummingbird Depth/Chartplotter. As soon as we got on the boat we were told the stereo might work or might not. It would go to one station, but you could not change stations or adjust volume. After about an hour and a half of the rental the hummingbird stopped working. I called the marina and they basically said oh well. Traveling the inner islands around Marco Island without a depth gauge was pretty challenging. We turned around and went back to the area we had been through. I thought when we got back they might knock a few $ off of the fee, but instead said they were like the only one to offer the depth gauge and there was no guarantee any options on the boat worked. Not the best customer oriented view I would have thought reasonable. Other options I had checked I thought were less expensive and chose Calusa partly because of the options listed on their website. On the other hand the boat was nice overall and we we did have a good time in the areas we had a good idea of depth from the laminated chart we were given.

A great place to watch for dolphins.
The only option for marine fuel on the south end of the island. Not much to do other than get bait, and fuel.

The dilapidated frame of an old vacation home, abandoned in the early 1900s, sits in the midst of a secluded private housing development. You need to stop at the gatehouse, give the guard on duty your information to receive an entrance pass (it's free). You are not permitted to exit your vehicle, since all the land is now privately owned. The long, slow drive amidst the house is beautiful, but there is little value in the trip away from the rest of Marco activities. If you're on the island and at a loss for things to do, this isn't too much of a waste of time. But I would have preferred to spend an extra 40 minutes on the beach, soaking up some sun.
