Houmas House Plantation and Gardens is an Historic Plantation that tells the story of the very wealthy Sugar Barons of the 19th Century. Also known as the Sugar Palace, because of the wealth created at this largest Sugar Plantation in America. A collection of museum quality Art, furniture, and decorative arts on display in its natural setting. Our Gardens are known as the best in the South. 36 Acres of Beautiful Gardens with statuary, ponds, fountains, bronzes and other things to please the eye. Plan on spending 3 hours to fully visit this site. We also have restaurants that offer breakfast, lunch, Dinner and Fine Dining. Our Inn has 21 rooms for overnight stays. Live the Life of the Great Sugar Barons, if only for a day. Experience all that Houmas House has to offer.
Had a wonderful time at the plantation and would highly recommend. The house was amazing and it was a beautiful day to tour the gorgeous gardens. The only thing that would have made it better was if we knew the cafe closed at 2 and even if you book a time online you can join any tour. We would’ve eaten first then gone on a less busy tour after.

Enjoy a little of Louisiana's Rich History. The Cajun Village consists of Historic Acadian buildings, restored to house unique specialty shops offering you the opportunity to shop and browse in a relaxed setting. Shops include Cajun Village Antiques, Cajunville, USA Giftshop, Bonniblu Candles and Gifts, Louisiana Pottery, and So Timeless featuring beautiful handmade clothing and photography. You can also stop by The Coffee House for our specialty Cafe' au Lait and Beignets or a hearty breakfast or lunch.
We rarely miss a chance on the road to or from New Orleans to stop at Cajun Village. It has interesting and fun shopping, as well as a delicious restaurant called the Coffee House that has a full menu of Cajun dishes. It makes for a great food or rest stop, and is worth driving a quarter mile off I-10!

Looking for a fun night out? Unleash your creative side with Painting with a Twist! Bring your favorite beverage, possibly a snack, and relax. Our talented team of instructors guides you step by step through the night's featured painting. Our classes are $35 for 2 hour paintings and $45 for 3 hour paintings, so there's something for everyone! Fun Art not Fine Art!
We had a blast painting and snacking for a friend's birthday. They had us a little too bunched together, though, so it was difficult to get to your equipment. It would have been better if there was more room. Also, there were tons of people there for what we thought was a private event.

The Turtle Bar is located in the Historic Garconniere of Houmas House Plantation and Gardens. Built in 1828, view the original brick structure, and enjoy an array of rare liquors, wines, and beers. Like no other bar in the world.
If you are at the Mansion stop in and have a drink. Friendly people behind and in the bar. We met several different groups and had fun talking about different places to go. The drinks were good

Built in 1801 and again in 1837 Bocage Plantation is a Grand Plantation Home.
We went to visit and tour the plantation on Friday September 26, 2014. We checked the web site the night before leaving New Orleans to ensure their operating days and hours.
We arrived after they were scheduled to be opened only to find the gate locked. Using our smart phones we doubled checked the operating hours and ensured they were supposed to be open.
We called the phone number listed and was told they decided to close for maintenance.
We understand repairs but how hard is it to post the information on their web site to avoid an unnecessary drive.
We checked the web site when we got back to the hotel and it was still not posted they had closed on a day they had listed as being open.

Day Spa providing massage therapy, facials, waxing, and permanent make-up in a relaxing, home-like environment.
Exceptionally comfortable and clean.
A very cozy atmosphere where relaxing starts the second you walk in.
It is a house completely remodeled for a spa.
Quiet and calming.
My mother in law and I went together.
I got a facial that left me refreshed and feeling great... then a massage that left me exceedingly relaxed and pretty much boneless and useless for a couple of hours but very relaxed and happy. (Thank you my wonderful hubby for buying that for me.)
Mom in law came out more relaxed than I have ever seen her and gleaming like a new penny.
You have to go here. They do couples massage too as well as spa parties and so many other things that I can't remember all I read.

If you have children, especially under 7, they will love this Playtorium...filled with areas to expand their minds as well as their motor skills. My grandchildren would go everyday if I would let them. They also do great Birthday Parties which are the BEST! Can't say enough good things...staff is wonderful. You won't be disappointed.
