Cliffs of the Neuse State Park

Reviewed By jmpncsu - Raleigh, North Carolina

Cliffs of the Neuse is a state park about 15 minutes south of Goldsboro. The park protects an area of surprisingly steep cliffs along the Neuse River. There are about 5 miles of hiking trails, picnic areas, a visitor center with exhibits on the park and a man-made lake with swimming and boat rentals in the summer. We took our dog for a hike here and had a great time. Although short, the trails here lead through a diversity of ecosystems. The Spanish Moss Trail, my favorite trail, runs past the Neuse River floodplain and then loops back over a steep cliff with many steps. I thought the contrast of cypress swamps next to tall cliffs was just amazing. We visited in February so no issue with bugs. Given the swampy conditions, I expect the insects could be a nuisance in the summer time. Overall, it's a great little park to enjoy nature and get some exercise.

Goldsboro Antique Mall

Reviewed By TammyC24 - Beaufort, South Carolina

Stopped by here on our way back to SC. Nice little place. Mostly glassware and furniture. Can't say that most of it was 'antique'. A lot of it was (IMO) vendors personal items to get rid of. Was looking for anything airplane related and didn't find the first item. Also was looking for cast iron pans. There was about 8 total in the building. Most were extremely rusty and pitted. The one I saw that I wanted to look at, I couldn't get to as it was behind some shelving units that were packed with items.

Busco Beach & ATV Park

This place is so irresponsibly managed it's ridiculous. I'm all for having a good time but to blatantly let people drink and ride right in front of your face all day in a park that allows children to ride side by side with all the drunken idiots??? That's just asking for trouble. We watched the group next to us start drinking at 8 am and on the drag strip still drinking and racing at 11pm. Good luck getting any sleep because on a half way busy weekend the same drunken idiots ride ALL NIGHT LONG! Left early and will not be coming back.

Panache Spa

Reviewed By DoctorCP

I really used to believe this salon had great quality and service she t hey first opened. They used to set 30min timers and make the employees work fast and responded to the beeping. It must not have worked because they don't do it anymore. This place is gaining popularity but it doesn't seem like they can keep up with the demand. Today and the last time I was here for pedicure only as a walk in I was placed in a chair and sat for over 45minutes. The water turned cold and I became uncomfortable. I debated if I should leave but my feet are wet and I've come this far. I've come on different night at different times and it always seems under staffed. It's a shame because I used to like coming here.
