Discover Colonial Williamsburg and become a citizen of the Revolutionary City. Engage with the local community and experience firsthand the daily struggles of wartime. Explore our art museums, unleash your kids' inner colonists, tee off a game of golf, or relax and unwind at the Spa. Stay at one of the official Colonial Williamsburg hotels, with a variety of opportunities to shop and dine, and you'll never want to leave.
A little off season, so we were able to park in town rather than at the visitor center, from which we would have had to take the tram. Lots of activities were going. Wythe House is a good visit. Ate lunch in the patio behind Chowning's; good, but a little pricey.

Whitley's "Home-Cooked" peanuts have a wonderful, crunchy freshness and distinctive flavor because our peanuts are still made the old-fashioned way-hand cooked, slowly roasted to perfection. For over 31 years, Whitley's Peanut Factory has been producing the finest quality gourmet Virginia peanuts and peanut candies on the market. We have three retail stores in Williamsburg, Gloucester and Richmond, VA.
Whitley's peanuts could be the best peanuts in Virginia. There certainly the largest peanuts, and they have a large variety to choose from, but I didn't get peanuts today I got peanut brittle.Thank you for taking the time to write us a review! We are happy to hear you stopped by our Williamsburg store and enjoyed your experience.

We are a paintball and airsoft park that has been open for over 10 years. We have a professional staff hand picked from the players that have played at the park for a long time so they know their stuff. We listen to eeryone from the starter first time player to the experienced so we love feedback both positive AND negative. Come give us a try! You wont regret it!

Museum where you can find all types of displays regarding the momentous events and activities during Revolutionary times.
This museum is a wonderful, modern venue that includes exceptional indoor exhibits and films as well as interesting outdoor settings. It is geared for all ages, so is a super family site. They also have a small cafeteria which serves great casual fare. Don't miss it if you are in the area.

PROS: included with our payment for Historic Jamestowne so we went. George Washington’s tent and Lafayette’s cannon are here.
CONS: not much to see; antiquated video in the theater, limited items in the museum. Good thing admission was free with Jamestowne. Otherwise, we may not have paid the $7 to enter here. Most of the different battle field areas are scattered throughout town not just in the park.

For a change of pace from Williamsburg and Jamestown, we set out into Gloucester County, Virginia, approximately thirty minutes away, to visit this quaint museum and the historical buildings located just across the street. This museum features exhibits of Revolutionary, Civil War events and plenty of local history. There is no admission fee, and the museum volunteers were so engaging and friendly, we felt like family when we left. The museum is only open from 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM, unlike most attractions in the "historic triangle" area, so plan accordingly.

Newport News Park has camp sites on one side. There are numerous hiking trails to explore nature and scenery along the Lee Hall Reservoir. During the Civil War, this location was part of the Confederate defense line during the Union's peninsula campaign and there are markers to indicate that. Boats are available to rent. There are numerous covered pavilions to rent for picnics. There are activity centers for kids and the park is adjacent to the golf course too. Great for dog walks under shady trees.

The battle at Yorktown followed by English General Cornwallis' surrender of his 7000+ man Army to General George Washington marks the end of the American War for Independence. When word reached Philadelphia, the congress in their enthusiasm ordered a grand monument be built in Yorktown. No money was appropriated and the monument was not built until the 100 year anniversary was approaching. Finally the Masonic fraternal order and the Daughters of the Revolution (DAR) raised the money, took charge, and got the monument built. The monument is dedicated to the Americans and their French allies. The plaques on the monument were financed by the DAR and list the American dead, the French sailors who died in the Battle of the Capes, and the French soldiers who died. Yorktown which was a prosperous colonial town based on sea trading, farming and fishing, was almost destroyed and never recovered its former prosperity.

To finally have a yoga dedicated studio in Gloucester County is like a dream come true, and to have this beautiful space and such wonderful facilitators just makes this more perfect.
The studio furnishes mats, bolsters, blocks if you don't have any of your own. You can also pay per session or buy a block of sessions. I think the prices are quite reasonable.
There are sessions that are geared to everyone from total beginner, including chair yoga for those who need it, and sessions for the more experienced.
Also offered is Tai Chi. Tea is available in the outer room as is water. Everything from the ambiance to the studio itself seems to be so thoughtfully considered. Worth a visit and not that far from Yorktown.
