We stopped by to get a recommendation for dinner from a local expert. The visitors center had some great museum level exhibits of Frederick along with lots of information on the city and surrounding area. We were also recommended to visit the Market and Patrick streets area for some of Frederick’s great restaurants.

We are Frederick City's first distillery. We feature fine hand-crafted spirits in a fantasy/medieval-themed tasting room. We offer tours, which detail our process from grain to glass. Must be 21 for tasting and tour.
So much fun! We went to Dragon Distillery for the first time this past weekend. The distillery hosted an AMAZING Valentine’s Day event complete with ax throwing, delicious drinks (try the Dark Knight and the Hot Buttered Rum!), an appetizer and a really cool alcohol infusion experience (can’t wait to see how they turn out!). The staff was super friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. I also want to give extra points for being extremely Covid compliant. My husband and I both mentioned multiple times throughout the event how safe we felt indoors due to the team’s hard work and diligence. Highly recommend and will definitely be back!

We envision our vineyard as the perfect complement to the spectacular rolling green hills of Frederick County, Maryland. Hidden Hills Farm and Vineyard's mission is to produce notable wines of distinction. The varietals planted have been carefully selected, staying true to the micro-climate as well as the region. Our wines are crafted in small blocks, showcasing their best characteristics with a refined complexity. Each bottle conveys the care and precision of our winemaker who understands the nuances and strengths presented by each varietal. Wine Tastings by appointment, in the heart of Frederick County.
I absolutely loved this winery! Our group was there on Mothers Day and it was raining all day. I was worried about the seating indoors as this was our 1st visit to Hidden Hills winery and we brought a picnic lunch. Our experience far exceeded our expectations and everything seemed to be done 1st class from the decor to the wines. We all agreed this is our favorite Maryland winery.....we will definitely be back soon!

The National Museum of Civil War Medicine is the premier center for the study and research of medical innovation during the American Civil War. Exhibits, programs lecture and research facilities look at innovations in science, medical logistics, medical organization, nursing, civilian medical relief and much more.
This is a fascinating museum. We planned an hour and went over quite a bit. Parking was easily found in the large parking garage behind the museum. Parking was only a few dollars for the 2hrs we were there. The staff was helpful and knowledgeable and the museum well laid out given the floor space. We’ve visited about 60% or more of the Civil War museums and battlefield parks in the US, I can say I definitely learned more about Civil War medical practices and procedures in this museum than I previously understood. The exhibits and displays will require you to read and engage to get the most out of it. I am quite sure we could go back and easily spend 2 more hours in this museum. On a side note, the museum gift shop had a well curated selection of Civil War medical history books at what was good pricing at the time of our visit. Well worth the visit if you any interest in the Civil War or medicine.
