Open 7 Days a Week | 10:00am - 5:00pm Michigan's Military & Space Heroes Museum is dedicated to Honoring, Respecting, and Remembering the memories of people from Michigan who heeded the call to military service during America's seven foreign wars. Located in Frankenmuth, the museum was started in order to tell the stories of servicemen and women from around the state and it now contains nearly 700 full collections of personal artifacts and stories of our war time heroes. In fact, Michigan's Military & Space Heroes Museum has gathered so many stories that it is the largest museum of its kind throughout the country and still growing. The museum houses a gallery dedicated to Michigan's governors who have served and galleries that honor the servicemen and women from each of the following conflicts: World War One, World War Two, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Gulf War and our current War on Terror. Within the World War One room, visitors will find the stories of Michigan's Own Polar Bears. These displays honor the men who formed a regiment of 5500 men, 90% of whom were from Michigan. These men have the distinction of being the only Americans ever to fight Russians on Russian soil. The museum also houses displays for each of the 13 astronauts from Michigan as well as recipients of the nations second highest award for valor, the Cross. The final gallery at the museum is dedicated to Medal of Honor recipients from Michigan and contains the largest collection anywhere in the United States, of Medals of Honor. Visitors to Michigan's Military & Space Heroes Museum can expect to be overwhelmed by the stories of sacrifice, bravery and valor that they will find there as the museum strives to Honor, Respect and Remember those who have served in our nations military.
A truly outstanding military museum! The exhibits are well displayed, and well described.
My particular interest is medals, and the museum holds the largest public display of Medals of Honor in the US. It's a relatively small museum, but there's a lot to see, so allow lots of time for your visit.

My husband and I did the wine tasting with a nice young gentleman. It is so wonderful to be able to taste samples until two people with completely different tastes in wine find a wine they both like. I thank our host for his help (and patience) finding this. We left here happy - with two souvenir glasses and a few great bottles of wine!

Enjoy over 40 unique shops and attractions in this authentic re-creation of a Bavarian village. Fun for the whole family!
I really like going here. They have a lot of unique shops--clothing, pet themed, jerky, socks, cupcake, popcorn, crepes, arcade, books, mirror maze, old time photos, ice cream, etc. During warmer months, you board the Bavarian Belle Riverboat from this area too. It's a very nice/safe place to walk around.

A must see when you are visiting Frankenmuth. The building dates back to 1845, and the stained glass windows go from the floor to the ceiling ! Incredible painting of Jesus above the alter. Just breathtaking.

We really enjoyed going through the museum and reading about the development of Frankenmuth. The Laura Wilder section was very interesting. The lady at the register was nice and pleasant. It is a worth a look.

A small heritage farm started by William 'Tiny' Zehnder that offers animal petting, farm education, wagon rides and seasonal fun. Check our Facebook page or website to see what's happening currently at the farm.
Our little guy loves these types of places. This one cost $5.00 per person. They had a pony, 2 goats, 6 peacocks,a sheep, lots of chickens and a rooster. They have a corn maze (which is really just a path you follow) and some old buildings that don't have anything in them. Sorry to say, l would not go back.

The shop itself is very small and that is disappointing. I was hoping for a chocolate wonderland. Their selection left a lot to be desired. That said, what they do have is amazing. The salted carmels and toffee are just to die for

Amazing collection of beer glasses, mugs, cans, and bottles. Interesting elevator, don't use if you are claustrophobic.

We noticed this as we were walking down the street. At first, it just seemed like a very artistic veterans memorial. Then we read the plaque over to the side that gives the meanings of all of the design features. At that point, as I was wiping the tears from my eyes, I understood just how much time and effort went into this design to make every part of it a meaningful tribute to those who have served. Just wonderful!

Went on a Saturday morning in June and the hours were from 8 until 2. There were a variety of vendors offering fresh produce, plants, strawberries, baked goods, jellies and jams, honey, maple syrup, cheese and other things. There were vendors selling breakfast bratwurst and the Womens Club was selling fresh strawberry shortcake. The pavilion is brand new this year and very nice. This is a worthwhile stop and they are open Saturdays and Wednesday in the evening.
