If you are looking for fantastic views of the river gorge many metres then this is worth a visit. We parked in the centre of Flims and followed the signs to the 'Aussichtsplatform'. The walk is through shaded woodland. The path is firm and mostly downhill on the way there(obviously, uphill on the way back. On reaching the platform, you ascend a couple of flights of steps to reach the top where you are effectively standing over the cliff edge. The views from up there are spectular

More pistes than one can cover in one day.
The piste difficulty ranges from easy to difficult. And don’t be misled by the easy(blue line) pistes, they often have difficult segments with narrow and steep runs, bumps and powder snow.
One general complain, probably to all Switzerland ski resorts, is that the pistes are only groomed once. The snow conditions deteriorate so much after lunch. Only experienced skiers mange with ease, even on the easy pistes.

Kanuschule Versam - The whitewater and canoeing experts . In the heart of the Rhine Gorge, at the trainstation Versam-Safien. We offer: Kayak- and Canoe- Courses, Camps, Travels and Tours. Rafting and Funyak Tours on the River Rhine. Store & Onlineshop for paddling- and outdoor- gear. Rental center for whitewater- gear and boats.
Rafting can be done with children as well, as we did. The track is not too challenging, like that you would flip over or so. Also it rarely happens that someone falls overboard. But in case that happens everything is well taken care off. There...MoreWe appreciate what you write about our company. It is the way we see ourselfs and are proud to be river professionals. During WW2 the Swiss Army built in Trin a fortress in the rocks with several bunkers beside of it. For over 60 years these buildings were top secret! Today, this unique outdoor museum opens the doors two times per month!
You can watch several buildings and bunkers with weapons from in- and outside. The highlight is the cable car up to the fortress deep inside the mountain.
I really enjoyed the visit and this unique place about Swiss military history of world war 2. Usually a guided tour of the fortress takes about 3-4 hours.

This restaurant has one of the most amazing location next to a huge wooden Fountain with a lovely mermaid on top - this in the middle of an old village along an old trade route. The menu looks very inviting with set dinners with delicious creations, often based on local ingredients and a very nicely renovated old stone house - more can be learned in a close stable through a nicely curated exhibition on the development of Valendas.
However, we left during a visit in the afternoon, after we did not succeed to obtain the attention of the waiter, despite several attempts. If this can be improved - this is definitely a place to explore, definitely for your eyes, if, what needs be explored, the culinary experience.

This is one of the iconic places of Flims in the summer. The water is a gorgeous color. There is swimming available if you are up to the cold.

Regular visitors to Flims/Laax, our young kids (5 & 7) obliged us to spend a visit to the Freestyle Academy.
The place is great and lived up to the expectations of our older one (I'll come back to the younger one later). There are areas for skating (half pipe etc), for climbing, trampoline and even for jumping with skis or skateboards. Once you have done the compulsory introductory course, you can enjoy all these attractions and it really is fun for a full afternoon.
The facilities are very well maintained and the staff is competent and friendly. Some of the helmets that were provided did not work properly (could not be closed) but otherwise everything was fine. The place may get a bit crowded and I do not know if there is a maximum number of people allowed in at the same time. This would certainly be a good thing.
Now, for the younger kids (up to 6 years), there is a kids-room. Unfortunately, this place is much less fun than the rest of the academy and it looks a bit like a last minute addition. Our younger one got very quickly bored and was disappointed as he wanted to do some of the staff for the older ones. We are looking forward to his 6th birthday when we will be able to enjoy the full facility with both kids at the same time!
Overall: well done and lots of fun for kids (and adults!)

A beautiful piece of mother nature and a very nice mountain drive towards it. Although smaller then the real Grand Canyon in the USA, this one you can go all the way down to the water and see it looking upwards.
If you have time you can go rafting or canoeing here.
There is even a restaurant so you can have a bit and enjoy this magnificent view.

One of the cleanest lakes you can imagine! Extremely well organised is a good combination of easy hiking, refreshing swimming and lazy 'farniente'.
Easy access through an elevator, this walk fits for everybody. Beautiful landscape, ... A little too crowded over the week end, but nothing dramatric. Try it!
