Presque Isle State Park is THE best. So much to do here including walking trails, jogging/biking/rollerblading paths, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, bird watching etc. Or do nothing and recharge your batteries by sitting on the beach, soaking up nature and the sound of the waves. You can just drive around as well. There are handicapped accessible areas as well. It's FREE.

This is a small and friendly place to quench your thirst, enjoy a wonderful burger, or listen to local musicians play. Lunch is second to none Monday through Friday. A nice selection of draught and bottle beer are always cold. The wait staff is friendly and the locals always enjoy a good conversation. For those still old school; smoking is still permitted. Expansion is currently underway. Enjoy the Best Place in McKean

For a small amusement park it is huge! This place is clean and fun the wooden roller coaster goes across a busy street and is a great place to catch a view of Lake Erie. Awesome water park. This place grows every year.

Please be advised that the Elk Creek Boat Launch will be closed, starting today, May 5, 2017, until further notice. The park is open every day of the year, sunrise to sunset. Day use areas close at dusk. Contact the Presque Isle State Park office for facility seasons and hours.
Tried out the hiking trails on a nice day, and unlike most PA state parks, the trails here have little signage, or directions... Some trails have a "yellow blaze", but the state site doesn't mention which trails use them. Would not waste any time hiking the trails that are on both sides of Duck Run... ( west side of the park ) Many muddy/wet spots, even in drier weather, ATV ruts in some spots, and the trails need much maintenance, so it's easy to take a wrong turn. The one scenic spot on the shore of Lake Erie is ok, but not worth the trouble of finding it... The trails on the eastern side near Elk Creek are much more traveled, and in better shape, but still no signs to make sure you're going where you want to go. The views from the bluffs are ok, but I would only go again when the trees have no leaves, as the views are obstructed.

Multimedia exhibits and a 19th century U.S. Flagship are featured at this museum.
The volunteer guide was very well versed in the history the museum promotes. Had answers to all my questions and was more than willing to engage in conversation. Well worth the time and money. They were dismantling the sail rigs for Winter storage so, we couldn't actually go on board the US Brig Niagara but, was just as happy getting a close look and ability to take pictures.

Lot of good things about this nature center. Almost all the buttons on exhibits work! Lots of good information about local plants and animals but limited hands on displays. There is a wonderful sand table with lights that allows you to create lakes and water drainage. There are also back rooms for educational programs but ask to seek them. That's where they have some large aquariums and even an aquaponic set up. Aquaponics is where plants are grown in water using nutrients provided by fish. There's also some nice seating areas, a 4 or 5 story high tower for viewing the lake (and the outdoor waterslide park next to the Center), and binoculars to use. I'd say that kids 8 and older might have a better time. Very easy to find and free parking. There is no cost.

The Erie Zoo is quite small, however charming, especially for kids to enjoy their nice collection of animals. The place is clean, accessible, easy to walk, and takes about an hour or so to see and experience all their exhibits, including the train ride.
Located west off 38th street, the best access is to turn east off of Peach Street onto west 38th street. Continue no more than a half mile, as the Zoo is on the right, with free parking just across the street and to the left off of west 38th street.
Bring the whole family oriented and special value to enjoy this top Erie family adventure!

Took my sons and their friend to one of their friends Birthday party on Thursday after 4:00. There was no discount for a Birthday add-on and it is a little pricy when traveling 1.5 hours. Make sure you check the bags or kids underclothes for swimwear. The boys swim shorts only go to 4t in the gift shop and that is also where you rent your locker key. I searched the building for the locker location because they didn’t tell me where the 100’s were after returning to another line at the gift shop to rent a small locker for $7 plus $10 key deposit that is returned when you return the key (cards can take a few days). So glad the children enjoyed themselves though.

Parking midweek was easy to find walk along the pier for water views. You can choose to climb the stairs to the top but it is very high, better to give $4 for an. Elevator ride unless you enjoy about twenty story's of steps
