Rising thru beautiful South Park we had the perfect weather for a lovely ride. All the staff are extremely helpful and friendly and the horses are very well cared for. I choose the 2 hour ride and there was a mixture of novices and fairly experienced riders, the horses are gentle enough for beginners but also have enough character that if you want to go faster you can. You ride thru meadows, over the river and up the hill to the 'park' which is miles of open ranch land. Here the more experienced riders can canter if they want and get a true 'riding the range' experience.
I will definitely come again! Bring water, sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat and a camera.

Really great experience going back through time! We spent 2 hours there and it went by very fast. Lots of neat things to look at and history to learn about the area and Colorado's mining and ranching past.

Had a great time yesterday with my boys riding ATVs. Martin our guide did a great job showing us how to ride and necessary safety instructions. Would definitely go again.

Good beer selection, some were tastier than others. The music was awesome our whole time there. Loved the huge selection of games to play while we drank and socialized. Decent seating too! The food was not outstanding, but otherwise this is a cool little spot to drink with friends.

Forest region that contains more than one million acres of land with 14,000-foot mountains, fishing streams, campgrounds and wilderness areas.
There are countless hiking trails, 4wd trails, campgrounds in various parts of the Pike National Forest. Get out and enjoy them. Pike is one of the drier spots in Colorado, so take plenty of water, and be careful out there. That's not to say there aren't nice creeks and a few lakes. There is a little something for everyone.

Driving north on CO 285, between Fairplay and Denver, you can't help but drive over Kenosha Pass. It is worth a stop to look at the amazing views and to hike a bit of the Colorado Trail in either direction. In fall, the place is nearly inaccessible as cars are parked for several miles in either direction with visitors coming to see the amazing color of the aspens. Our tip is to hit before peak color to avoid the worst of the crowds. But in any season, it is worth a stop.

The ATV's were fine; it was the slowness of the guides we had to follow and the relatively boring paths. First you ride around a large meadow, cross a road and drive next to it. Then after a short photo op you drive through an area of aspens and rocky trails followed by another lap around the meadow. This would be fun for someone who has never ridden an ATV before is timid and doesn't want to explore trails on their own. We have rented razors in the past and been given a map and told to be back in 4 hours. That is a lot more fun and what we will do again in the future. If the 1 hour option skips the meadow drive, it would be a less expensive option and more fun. The meadow drive does give you a chance to get used to the manual transmission. There is an outhouse and a place to wash up after the ride. You will get dirty.

We stopped in to browse on our way from Breckenridge to Colorado Springs. The town of Fairplay is a really fun stop in the South Park region. The scenery is beautiful and the town is quaint and friendly. We dropped into the Old Red Barn and loved the local vibe of all the items for sale. It is a great place to find a Christmas ornament or some locally designed coasters. They sell furniture and all sorts of local crafts. The people are extremely nice and are willing to chat about the local area. It's a fun stop along the way...

We were staying in FairPlay aka South Park and the name of the shop made it too good to pass up. There was a huge selection of CO t-shirts and many at great prices. My husband and I both found t-shirts that we had to buy, mine with the shop logo. There were also loads of South Park souvenir items and t-shirts. The owner was super friendly and helpful with suggestions in the area.
